I won't comment on the value, but he wont be traded within the Division, im sure you can understand that.

Yeah, I was just asking from a value standpoint, I know there is no way we get him.

Don't see Yandle going to Edmonton unless one of the big 4 is going back to PHX.

Oilers are still 2-3 years away from competing for a playoffs, and should not currently be buyers...

Not sure who is a good fit here to be honest for Yandle, I am sure lots of teams will covet him though.

From value if you change Vlasic to maybe another forward or a good prospect the value is fine, but we have so many D-man ready to step into the NHL we don't need D coming back.

You'll have to take out Vlasic. They wont be looking for D... and Clowe probably isnt what they're looking for.

It's a good package. Just lacks the Center that Phoenix would be willing to move Yandle for. Doubt they want to move Yandle within the division as well.

I might think about moving Pavelski for Yandle, then moving Boyle for a forward elsewhere. Yandle is exactly what the Sharks need. A top4 of Vlasic-Burns Yandle-Stuart would be pretty sick.

Per #nhl source, #oilers offered Gagner & Paajarvi for Yandle of #yotes during #nhldraft

gotta give Maloney credit. He did not embarrass the Oiler organization. If that is all the Oilers would offer, than Yandle will not be going up north... I doubt that the twitterer is privy to all negotiations or that most GMs acknowledge that it's ludicrous to go after Yandle since Maloney is not shopping him.

That was a pretty easy decision for Maloney tbh.

I wish the Pens could have worked something out Phoenix at the draft...

Agreed, no way Yakapov fetches Yandle.

Eberle or Hall.

Rumor is that GMDM wanted Eberle... so he is spot on.

I guess you get an A for effort, though.

Perhaps they don't perceive it as a lowball offer? It's pretty clear management likes both players, they took them in the top 10 for a reason.

The oilers aren't moving Yakupov, and they're obviously not dealing Hall, RNH, or Eberle, so most Oiler fans are ok not getting Yandle of that's the price tag.

I can't see another team giving up a young player of that calibre, but I'm sure some teams can offer a better package of guys than the Oilers.

I think that if Hertl slipped all the way to 22nd the Coyotes may have, but I don't think that the Pens would have wanted to trade Sutter. (I don't think that there are any other assets that the Pens may be willing to trade to the Coyotes that the Coyotes be willing to take). I think that's the way it went down, once Hertl was off the table, Maloney said No.
22nd (Hertl), Sutter, and Michalek (just a guess, but the way everything went down, it may be a good guess and the only one I can see that was proposed to make Maloney 'hesitate'. It was said that a top 10 was offered (8?). I can see the conversation going
Shero: 8th and Michalek
Maloney: ...and Sutter
Shero: then what about the 22 instead of the 8th
Maloney: depends on who still is available
later on in the draft
Maloney: no, since the players we were targeting is no longer available
Shero: you still have interest in Michalek...

he may have asked for Eberle....guess he was on the funny stuff too, cuz it didn't happen.

oh lord....Eberle for Yandle? at least Maloney has balls to ask for something so ludicrous.

Sure, but you're talking about someone coming off a 30+ goal 75+ point season at 21 years old.

How many of those players exist in the league? And how many of that group would be traded for Yandle?

I think the answer is likely none.

I'd be willing to improve the offer, but Eberle is untouchable.

If that means no Yandle, I think that's understandable for you guys to find better offers.
