Not at all. I never like trading away future firsts. I'd give up a good prospect and/or 2nd-rounders or higher though.

Sure could. But that's on an individual team level. If you get one of the consensus top-2/3/4, you're in good shape.

Still miffed as to why the Devils wouldn't forego their pick this year.

I should have said that better... the entire draft may not be deep but the top 4 is scouted as elite.

sorry for the mess-up

Not like we're going to be top 4, though. It was hard enough getting to 7.

Pierre McGuire just mentioned 4 defensive prospects names and didn't mention Dumba.

did he forget to mention him, or is he really falling that far ? interesting

I'm still astonished anyone thought they would. There's really no compelling reason for them to have done so. They need to restock their prospect pool now, not later. The 29th this year is more valuable than the 20th next year or the 12th the year after. No matter how high you're drafting you can't trade for development time.

If you want to be picky, more like "better" shape than at #7.

If we end up moving up, it needs to be into the top 3 or its just not worth it unless we somehow move up by moving pure garbage.

and I agree... but anything can happen. I don't see it happening and if it did I would hope my head is still attached to my neck / shoulders. I believe we are in the playoffs next year.

if we are in the lottery next year I will

If were in the lottery next year, I will probably be in the insane asylum from the rage of all the losses destroying my cognitive abilities entirely.

My crappy NBCSN apparently doesn't want to come in this room. Looks fine in the room with no chairs and the small tv...

Why not? Eventually you need to trade some of that quantity for quality. We have enough depth to do that now.

I am going crazy, can't believe the draft is finally here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

Reinhart / Grigorenko are my top 2 as for where we will be drafting... I would be just fine with about any pick except for Teuvo Tera.
