The only way they are a major player is if they toy with him by saying they don't want him to go to Detroit

Have Hossa convince him that Pittsburgh and Detroit aren't worth spending more than a year at.

Just cause you've never heard of him, doesn't really mean anything. He's one of the top beat-writers in the league, and the only real media member that has strong sources in the Wild organization.
Must not be too credible, he totally ignored what Parise said from his own mouth...

who you gonna believe some random beat-writer, or ZP himself?

McKenzies podcast, he said he thinks it's the pens.
Must be an old and outdated podcast, McKenzie is on vacation starting last night. He is MIA

I wonder if Ek's sources all like to punk him and he actually doesn't know they aren't legitimate, plus he's a world-class gullible guy. Would explain things.

I'm going to make a twitter and shout random teams that Parise will sign with. I'm going for the other 29, besides Chicago. Maybe I'll be right and I'll gain instant money and followers.

My gut feeling is that Parise signs with the Pens. The allure of playing on a line with Crosby and infront of Malkin would be a lot to turn down. I'm still holding out hope that Fletcher can pull of some magic because I believe if the Wild sign Parise that they sign Suter as well.

However, if they don't get Parise they won't get Suter. It's funny, sources out of Pittsburgh put the Wild in front and the Wild's beat writer believes it will be Pittsburgh.

Eklund will report in an hour that Parise is big on playing for San Jose and will sign with them. (e5)

I'm still going to go with my hunch and say that Parise signs with the Pens. As they say, the rich gets richer. The Pens will become the NHL equivalent of NBA's Miami Heats.

But hey, I thought Schultz was going to sign with Vancouver, so what do I know?

I could swear a TSN-affiliated source (Dreger? Can't remember) said yesterday that Chicago hadn't even made an offer to ZP. And they shouldn't - he isn't a need at all, as good a player as he is. Suter is a much better fit (and they aren't getting him either so hooray).

But yeah, don't listen to Eklund, as usu- err, always.

Well he was saying what he THOUGHT, he didn't cite any sources. Just his gut feeling. And my original comment was to a statement saying that it was beat writers pandering to their audiences. Him saying he thinks parise goes to Pittsburgh, is not pandering to Minnesota audiences.

No one wants to be let down, by telling yourself you won't land Parise (and pay him 24 million in salary bonuses alone in one year?!?! ), you set yourself up to only be pleasantly surprised if he signs with you.
