All Purpose Goalie Thread: Teams Needing - Goalies 1a/1b Available

EDIT****

Due to the heavy speculation of goalie activity, this offseason, it will be good to keep track of who needs goalies and who is available.

Here is a list of teams and goalies available please add more teams/goalies. Somes teams have a starter already, but are rumored to be seeking a replacement.

Teams

1. Toronto

2. Columbus

3. Chicago

4. Edmonton

5. New Jersey

6. San Jose

7. Florida

8. Philadelphia

Goalies

1. Luongo

2. Niemi

Potential Starters Unproven as #1

3. Bernier

4. Bobrovsky

Journeyman/1b Starters

5. Clemmensen

6. Khabibulin

It will be interesting to match up who is going where.

At first glance it appears as though there are more teams needing goalies than #1 goalies available.

Please add to list any missing.

After recent events....Thomas semi-retiring and Vokoun signing with Pitts it sure seems the goalie market has went dry for true #1.

We can now cross off Harding and Lindback now!

I honestly don't see Luongo going to Columbus or Edmonton. He wants to win, not dwell in the basement ad infinitum.

Schneider and Bernier should be available for the right package.
I don't care what Vancouver media/fans say, both their goalies are available, they just will trade one

Hawks would be interested if the right deal comes to us, if not, Bowman won't overpay

I'd bet Ryan Miller is available for the right return.

Pens need a backup if you're not just doing starters.

I'm quite confident that Brodeur will be back next season and that the organization is high enough on the young goalies not to make a major splash for a big name FA.

If Al Montoya hits UFA he should be on this list. When he was our number 1 he was damn good, he got hurt and then Nabby took over and he never got it back.

Schneider is not. At all. And would cost more than Kadri if he was.

I believe you can probably add Lindback to that list. He's considered one of the better young goalies out there and Rinne just signed that 7 year deal. I think he goes for a pick before the draft.

For Bernier, almost.

Nowhere near for Schneider. Meant to bold him, my bad.

Considering he is unquestionably the face of Buffalo's franchise, that return is going to have to be an overpayment.

If the sharks are seeking to replace Niemi, It's with goalies they already have, so they won't be looking for a goalie.

You know that "1B" implies a starter, right? A second-tier starter perhaps. 2A=very good backup.

Anyway, it is pretty ridiculous to dismiss Bobrovsky as a starting goaltender. At 23, he's already started 84 games. (20 more than Schneider, 35+ more than Bernier--both of whom are older.

He's in need of regular starts and a decent goalie coach (to fix his bantom-level glove hand), but he still has very good potential.

Obviously Bernier has the better pedigree, and Schneider has produced better--though Bob has never had the opportunity to play behind a strong, defensively-sound system.

Bob would also come significantly cheaper than some of the alternatives--a mid-2nd would almost certainly do it. Tampa has 54 second round picks--I'd think they are better off moving one for Bobrovsky than packaging Connolly and a pick for Bernier or... I don't even know what Vancouver fans would want from Tampa for Scheider.

Ok. End rant. Will not post in the future before second cup of coffee.

I think the best goalie on that list is Thomas. He has one year left on is contract at 5 million. Luongo has a bad contract. Schneider could be traded at the right price but will cost alot same goes for Rask.

Anyone have a guess at what Harding's asking price will be?
