I'm not worrying about Marc at all, even if there is a chance though, the Rangers can really cash in, so it could be a great opportunity.

This should set the Penguins up to be really good for a long time. Now, they'll get more cap room to build up in future years. I don't know much about Sutter, buy I hear if he can get the consistency to match the talent, he'll be quite a player. Always thought Staal to the Rangers was a longshot anyway.

Very classy of Ray Shero to thank Staal for his service to the Penguins.

Send a message via AIM to Cynical TyranT
They've got him as comparable to MDZ.

This draft is already pretty surprising

Rangers should trade up for Forsberg or Grig.

Would be epic if he ended up leaving after all Carolina gave up, but you have to think that Carolina had assurances from Eric that Jordan would re-sign.

What is the question mark on Forsberg that he's still on the board?

No they didn't. Sutter is not yet as good as Staal, and, as we've seen, there are many a bumpy ride with young D-man. Shero got a great value, but, I'm not sure the Pens right now are a better club.

Offensive upside. Played in the SEL, and although very young, didn't have flashy numbers.

Do you know how much cap room they just opened up by getting rid of Staal?

Classy move by Shero as a wedding gift.

Rangers fans who thought we were going to get Staal were off their rockers. A player like Staal will never be traded from the Penguins to a rival team like the Rangers.

Gotta be absolutely insane to plan a wedding on draft day/deadline day/free agency day as a hockey player. No sympathy from me.

Accually he plays in Allsvenskan the league under SEL, doesn't follow that league at all so I can't really say anything about him.

If the Rangers were going to trade up, it sure would be a good time now. Forsberg or Grigorenko...man, that would really shake up the depth chart for this team.

I don't seem to remember too many people saying we were going to trade for him..

Yep

Only chance we have at Jordan Staal is if he decides he wants to test free agency next year.

Well didn't they say that Jordan Staal would consider signing an extension with Carolina?
