Great job addressing your Defensive needs, Washington. Wilson's a pain in the ass to play against, but I didn't even think taking him at 28 would be a good idea, let alone at 16.
At least most picks make sense when they are drafted at the time. It would be stupid to draft a goalie when we have a future HOFer who still has years to go before he retires. We shouldn't draft one now, especially this early.
It would actually make sense to draft a young goalie who has time to develop when our future HOFer starts to think about retirement. It takes well over 5-10 years to develop a great goaltender.
I'm glad we didn't get a chance to take Wilson. I'm tired of hearing about the next Lucic at this point, year after year we hear that yet there's only 1 Lucic in the NHL.

Disagree.
1) We are in a good position to select a goalie. At 28, we'll probably get the 1st goalie off the board, which may be a better value than the 15 forward or dman.
2) Hank may get hurt at some point. He may leave in free agency.
3) If we pick a goalie, there is no guarantee he'll make it. Waiting to take one and then expecting him to become a #1 is not a good strategy. I'd rather have two #1 goalies than none.

Seems there's only one requirement to be the next Lucic and that's being 6'4". People need to understand that it's so much more than that.

Bonus) Taking the goalie the devils want
He may also be the best player available, which seems to be the strategy drafting wise.
I still think Philly is going to take a run at him.
