I think he'll be there and I hope we pass on him. Not really a fan, at least not in the 1st round.

I never get as excited about the NHL draft as I do about the NFL draft. With the NFL draft it is "who can help us now" whereas with the NHL it is who can help us in 2-3 years. It is obviously much more exciting knowing you will get to see the guy play at the pro level immediately rather than some time down the road.

i hope Sather shocks the NHL world and moves from 28 to say 10-15. Rangers need a young impact player. they dont have one as of now...Kreider maybe can be that player but they can use another scoring physical forward... Rangers arent a big team and the last two teams that won were big...size matters if you know how to use it correctly...not like Malik or Poti.. im hoping for Sutter Matteau or Samuelsson

Muir from SI has us picking Di Giuseppi...

...with Collberg going immediately after to the Devils.

I don't know a lot about this year's draft eligible kids, but I know enough to think I would likely kick a puppy if that happened.

Just an FYI, I'm at work so I'm doing this from memory pretty much, lol. Kerdiles was at #42 I believe, and Matteau at #41.

Did a mock draft with some guys on the mock board and ended up with:
#28 - Tom Wilson
#59 - Dylan Blujus
#89 - Chandler Stephenson

Would be incredibly pleased with that.
Man... what I'd do to see Blujus as a Leaf...

I really like DiGiuseppe but I wouldn't pass on Collberg for him.

Could shake out in a lot of different ways. He's a heck of a player though. Like Clark said in the chat yesterday, he was the best player for the Oil Kings in the playoffs. He was dominant.

We should have done a poll here on here and see who were the most popular players that might be avail at 28.

Just listened to nhl live on sirius xm...they were going over their mock drafts (not sure whos doing it just turned it on)

One of them has us taking a Finnish defenseman who is signed with Jokerit through 2015 i believe. Did not catch the name.

Other guy had us taking Oscar Dansk to be Henrik's eventual replacement.

Esa Lindell maybe? I think he's the highest rated d-man from Jokerit this year, but even then he's rated as a late 2nd rounder. Not sure about his contract commitment with them either.

Good size and puck moving ability, but a bit of a liability in his own end.

Russ Cohen's picks were laughable. He had Martin Frk going 12th, and CBJ taking Grigorenko at #2

Hm, I wouldn't mind grabbing Di Guiseppe, but that's me

I trust Red Berenson's development of prospects

I'd have no problem if the Rangers took Samuelsson. Kid was rated highly earlier in his career, missed some of this year, and then really came on in the POs. Great profile in pretty much everything, but with awkward skating.

If Gordie and Gorton like him, it means they view the first 75% of his 2011-2012 as the outlier - and believe his performance in the POs was the real deal.

I have Collberg Top 10 (I don't see him being picked that high). Seeing that play out would piss me off as much as seeing Parise going to the Devils in 2003.

Kind of funny that the Devils have the draft next year and they may not have a 1st rounder......

I thought since they used the 1st rounder this draft, they won't have a 1st rounder next year...

They would just forfeit it in 2014 then.

From Sports Talk AM today (NY radio show) "Brandon Dubinsky has not renewed his lease on his NYC apartment. This comes 24 hours after Dubinsky reportedly had a conference call with Glen Sather and John Tortorella according to tsn's sportscenter show this morning.

Add this to rumors that Dubinsky is on the trading block and many around the league are wondering if the Rangers informed Dubi that a deal involving the disappointing Rangers forward has been reached. "

The host said he has also read twitter reports that Dubinsky WILL be traded on draft day and a deal has been reached, supposedly with the Blue Jackets or Canucks.

Maybe he isn't renewing his apartment lease because he is getting married in the next few days?
