I want them to pick Murray so badly but I doubt it. If you believe what you read its down to TT or Gally (if Yak is gone)

I agree that Murray is a safe pick. A history of safe D picks means we'll have a Top-6 D in our roster in 3+ years... To me Murray means: I want to get cute, I want to reinvent the wheel... I don't trust Timmins (or any other head scout in the league) to correctly project a Top-3 D prospect unless he's 6'7 and his name's Pronger.

Ginn is meh. Definitely not worthy of a 1st round pick, let alone the #9 pick. But the Dolphins were more right than the fans. Brady Quinn sucks.

I have no problem with Teravainen if we trade down a few spots...

Plus he's captain of the Testville Pink Panthers.

And 8 goals in 7 playoff games. That's clutch.

5'4, 273 pounds.

7 playoff games - 82 PIMS. But somehow scored 10 points.

I'd do it as much as it would suck to lose Eller.

Looking at the videos available online of TT.. he has a good shot, one-timer and he knows how to find open spaces. Very elusive.

Trevor Timmins needs to be fired for letting Lemieux get away!

That might not even get Ryan alone so you can forget adding the pick too.

If the habs pick him at 3rd, there's gonna be some major scoffing going around.
I don't understand this at all...the Finnish league is the most physical in Europe. How many Finnish players are truly soft? A lot are small perimeter players, but soft?

What does the shortened European season have to do with it?

the only reason i can see the Habs pick this TT over say Yak?

One big reason ,

Yak wants to play NHL this year.....
Galchenyuk might make the NHL....
Picking TT? see ya in 4 years.

I really hope this isn't the case, but there are players in the top 5 expecting to play in NHL this year.
That could be trouble for Habs .

I have seen Timmin's press conference. My gut feeling is that a trade has already been finalized. They simply wait until we make the draft and then annouce the trade.

It'll be tricky to accomplish but if they could I'd say draft Forsberg at number 3 then trade their 2nds + whatever to try to get Grigs.

You have your power forward and all world skilled centre. The makings of a future top line or years to come.
I like the idea of moving back into the first round to get a guy that falls, yet we have ranked high....but our two second rounders will likely not get us anything better than 20th overall.

If we do move back into the first round I would be shocked if it wasn't for Koekkoek.

If the Habs hypothetically selected TT, would he stay in Finland, go the CHL, or play in the A?

Package the 2nd picks with Beaulieu to get between 6-10.

I see Teravainen as this NHL draft's Quinn. Lots of hype, not the prototypical guy (style wise) but tons of potential. In the end, not the guy for us (as Quinn wasn't for the Browns)

I just went through the Canada-Finland bronze medal game from the U18s in April. Granted the game is played on international ice, but I just can't get over how skilled and clever Teravainen is with the puck.

His playmaking abilities are just off the charts. I didn't get to see his shot much because he adopted more of a set-up role in that game (his linemates have failed to score on AT LEAST four of his magistral passes), but boy he looks like a forward who could be a dominant force once he adds some upper-body strength.

If the idea is to really get a center.

why not move down with a team that has 2 first rounders?

Grigs and Matteau instead of Just Gally???

My gut feeling is that the 3rd overall pick is involved in a trade with Anaheim for Bobby Ryan.
