If Yakupov isn't on the radar for Habs, it has mean that it's more psychological then hockey wise. Again, you hear those kids talk and you know that as far as how they handle themselves, Forsberg is clearly Habs material. And you have to add Murray and Galchenyuk. So you wonder if it would be a reason why. Or if the concussions would also be a reason why. Or the "needs" if the Habs addresses the centerman need no matter the size of the prospect.

As far as TT there is one thing people in here needs to consider and is EXTREMELY important in a prospect world. TT was 4 tiny days of going in next year's draft. While Yakupov was born in October 1993. In a prospect world, that's freakin HUGE especially if we can almost agree that the gap is not THAT big.

You have to bet that birthdate is extremely important.

I'm sure I heard Mackenzie just say on TSN that Yakupov was the BPA in this draft..

If Yakupov and Galchenyuk are on the board and the habs take Teravainen, I will be disappointed. However, I trust Timmins.

Nuts.
That would be ridiculously stupid if we passed on him.

Stupid question: Is the actual draft (not just preview show) being streamed online? If so where?

That's basically what I'm thinking. Add Forsberg to that list.

Id be fine with either. You can even throw Forsberg into the mix and i wouldnt have any issues at #3.

TT on the other hand is too much of a reach and gamble at #3. Picking him up at that spot when the best 2 forwards are still available would be mind boggling and a bad move.

It sounded to me like Bergevin basically said in that interview that MTL already had their guy decided on regardless of what happens in front of them.

Makes me think the T.T. rumours might be true...

No doubt birthdate is important. But regardless of birth date, is Teravainen going to be NHL ready in 11 months? Because from most scouts and opinions, Yakupov is NHL ready right now.

Bergevin is a wise guy. Seems that 2 of his kids are serving as "pages" for 2 other teams.....Just an interesting way to get infos...

I agree.. If the Habs take TT with Gally and Yak still on the board they must really think he will be a great one..

Does anyone not know how special Subban is as a defenseman? Hes infectiously enthusiastic, he is an EXCELLENT skater, hes dedicated, physical, big shot, great puck mover and can rush the puck up the ice.

Ideal defender in the NHL.
Yeah, I understand this. I'm wearing my Subban shirt as we speak. I've always been front line and center arguing for Subban's recognition.

This move, however, gives us a first line. We've recreated Lafleur Shutt Lemaire as close as you reasonably could. And maybe our defense is good enough even without him.

This move would be obvious if we had McDonagh still, although, you might just end up trading McDonagh.

It's a bet: that Nail and Galchenyuk together are worth more than Subban. I think they are.
