Howson is terrible.

Even if Bobrovsky pans out as a good starter, which is very unlikely, you don't throw away three draft picks when you are in full-rebuild mode.

For CBJ this was a good deal. There isn't a veteran goalie in the land looking to go there -- unless there are zero options. Bobrovsky/Mason is a lot better than what they started with last year and Bob can push Mason.

#45 is insignificant in the big scheme of things -- since CBJ rarely get an NHL player at that spot.

Good move for the jackets.

For all the Flyer fans suggesting the pick gets moved -- maybe -- but what are you going to get for it? Not much.

Wow, young unproven goalies will get a lot ever since that Varlamov trade.

Without knowing what the other picks are Columbus has already overpaid for a mediocrity. Par for the course for Howson.

I don't get the thought that the Flyers get the better end of this deal. Its a win-win in my mind.

With a little coaching Bob could be a great goalie, he's one of the quickest and most athletic goalies I've ever seen, he just struggles with positioning sometimes. A good goalie coach can fix that.

How can anyone say that Bobrovsky/Mason is "better than what they had last year" when last year it was Sanford/Mason with Sanford playing out of his mind...

I meant for next year though, Sanford is KHL bound and wasn't a long term option. Mason/Bobrovsky looks much better on paper than Mason/Sanford because there's more potential there for one of Mason or Bob to take that next step.

Bobby Mac says the other two picks are fourth-round picks.

Why does Columbus continue to allow the Flyers to destroy them in trades

I think they did well.

Never said it had "enormous" value. The other guy said the pick was "insigificant" and held "almost no value", which is bunk. That's all.

It's a nice piece for a goalie who was doomed to be a backup on the Flyers and who brought a big cap hit for that role.

Even though that's not a tonne, that is a tonne for a really bad goalie.

All these young goalie trades makes the varlamov trade last year look pretty good in comparison.

So #45, a 2012 4th, and a 2013 4th?

Good trade for Philly. Not sure if it CBJ should have give up 3 picks right now, though...

Howson is a moron. We'll see what the other 2 picks are, but a 45th? You can get a decent player then.
