Getting a 2nd++ for Bob was an awesome return.

Bob's a solid back up, but I do not think he's much mroe than that.

Good job Flyers.

Two 4ths isn't terrible to give up after the 2nd rounder, I guess.

They'll be looking for a way to get rid of him in two to three years. Bob is nothing special.

The flyers POV is that they have two young, good goalies in the AHL, Bob is stuck behind a goalie signed for 8 years and quite frankly isnt that good a back-up.

He needs starts, consecutively, not coming in off the bench cold or a start every other week.

I imagine the Flyers will sign a vet for less then what Bob was making, or see how the youngsters do.

Ah, okay. Thanks!

Still think CBJ got a good deal, but I'm sure the Flyers scouts love this.

What two "good, young" goalies do the Flyers have in the AHL...

Why are people saying this is such a bad trade for Columbus. Very confusing. Do people just want to hate on anything CBJ does?
Because Bob is a back up goalie and a waste of a solid 2nd round pick.

Is it a horrible deal? No.

Bob will help them next year more than the 2nd rounder would have, but when he's an RFA afte rthis season coming, and still no better than a back up do you extend a QO at almost 1.2 million?

Doesn't hurt to try.

Hopefully this trade starts one of these:

Columbus' goalie depth was Mason-York. It blows my mind how anyone can rip Howson for this trade. A second round pick and two fourths is worth adding some goaltending depth that will stick around for a while.

I am just amazed that Lindback and Bobrovsky were the answers in goal for perhaps the two teams that desperately needed good goaltending the most.

That being said, I feel Bobrovsky was a better deal for Columbus than Lindback was for Tampa. Columbus paid less and got a more proven goalie.

Why, CBJ, why?

Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess. Still, for a rebuilding franchise shouldn't be trading those picks.

Did Bryan Murray ask for a cheap goaltender to come back our way in the Nash trade?

Good deal for both. Bobrovsky certainly has the talent, if not the current form, to be a starter.

What else are CBJ going to do? Run with Mason alone? Sell the farm, house and industrial concern for Schneider?

#45 is hardly a guarantee. The chances of getting a decent NHL'er around that pick would be <30%, a goalie even less so. Columbus need one now. Bob has been a starter on a much better team, and made a decent fist of it.

Good pickup for Jackets

I think Bobrovsky has alot of raw talent to work with. He reminds me of Khabibulin back when he played with Russian Penguins/early Jets years. Has some issues to work out but experience and coaching should help him fix some of the holes in his game

I think having Tyutin and Nikitin will be big help for him as well

2nd and two 4ths is a great return for your backup goalie.

Steep price for CBJ.

They can rip Howson for this trade because Bobrovsky just isn't that good.
