I like it, but that is depending on the price.

Congrats on a deal almost done!

He's much better than Mason and should fit in nicely on a young, up-and-coming Columbus team with low expectations for the next two seasons. I think he'll be a good starter for you guys.

Not singling this out, but hasn't anyone learned from the Nash saga, it's about what you did last season. Nash is now just a 30 goal scorer, so ergo that should make Bobrovsky a stiff, right?

Also, remember everyone Bob was back up for the FLYERS one of the worst defensive teams in the league last year. When no one plays defense the goalies numbers are gonna suffer.

I potentially like this. We'll see what the return is going to Philly, but I'm cautiously pleased.

Have confirmed @DarrenDreger report of #CBJ trade for G Sergei Bobrovsky. Three draft picks going to Flyers, including No. 45 this year.

Steve Mason was essentially backup on a team with poor defense. The difference in their save percentage? .005%.

I don't hate the move, but he'd best not be the only goalie we acquire this off-season or it could be a long season.

Update: Wait...3 draft picks?!!

I watch plenty of Flyer games since I'm local, Bob makes some insane saves. His legs are crazy. All of Phillys game are just trying to outscore the other team. Their defense is abysmal, I'm not making excuses for him but let's give the guy a shot before we make an opinion fully on stats.

I really hope something else is involved in this. That's too much for Bobrovsky. Howson has the front wheels of the bus over the side of the cliff already and it's only 12:30PM.

OK so we gave up #45 and something in 2013 and a mystery pick.

One of the picks will be in 2013 draft.

I'm told #CBJ had the better offer than #Jets for Bobrovsky and #Flyers pulled the trigger. Likely a 2nd rounder and a 6/7. Still uncertain.

Darren Dreger is as reliable as they come for news like this, so I'm sure it's a done deal.

Not a bad piece to add, there's a ton of potential there.

Prospects to acquire Luongo are much more dicey now. No way I give up a first for him.

45? Ugh.

Maybe we can flip Mason for a 3rd.

I love it! Ive liked Bob since they first showed him before his first game, sitting alone up in the seats, just staring into his goalie glove.

****, the way we draft (esp in the 2nd round) it's probably best we don't have those picks.

Let's put it in perspective. Bryz had a horrible year, as everyone acknowledges. He played in front of the same defense with a 0.909 save percentage.

Again, this move is fine notwithstanding the possibility that Bobrovsky could really go either way with a comeback year or simply never turning into anything, as long as it means Steve Mason is leaving and not if it is the only move we make in goal. So, I'd say our goal situation is slightly better, but I'm also expecting something else between now and training camp.
