According to Eklund, we traded for Bob because we lost out on Luongo to Toronto. Take that FWIW. Seems like an odd statement considering that Luongo hasn't even been traded to Toronto (or anywhere) yet. But it IS Eklund.

Really now? Ignorant because we don't see a guy who feels an awful like someone we already have being a legit #1 in the league? Hopefully he will be, but I just don't see it.

how has no one else thought of this?

Rimer saying/butchering the name Bobrovsky 25-30 times a game

like the trade though, has high potential for win

I'm not going to comment on the merits of the trade itself in a vaccuum (again), but you do yourself no favors when you argue that a player that regressed in his second NHL season is as likely as a player who has steadily improved over the last 3 seasons to be a legit number one goalie.

I'm not as hot on Schneider as some, but that statement does not withstand scrutiny.

Hes also what 6 years younger? Lets give it a year or two before we really start comparing them.

I approve of this trade.

Because it reminds me of this guy:

My money is on the Brah-BAHV-ski pronunciation.

We obviously traded for him to replace Clitsome.

"beaverman" is Bobrov, you know, the greatest Soviet athlete ever: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vsevolod_Bobrov
Bobrovsky is more like "belonging to beaverman"

I seem to recall another goalie that had a great rookie season, slumped in his 2nd year but also had huge upside. I can't quite remember his name. Someone help me out

I remember tens of such goalies. Raycroft, Carey, Norrrena... You should clarify his team or nationality. Also I know a bunch of goalies who had a great career after having a sophomore slump.

Flyers fan in peace who actually watches the jackets abit...(saw about 10 this past season). Been increasing as season pasted. I like bob and honestly think he could be a starter thia coming season. Like any goalie though he needs a defense yhat doesnt allow players to camp right infront without any defenders touching them. If he fixes his problem of goi down to fast he will be a nhl goalie easily. His quickness and reflexes are one of the best in the league

Well, hopefully he takes instruction better than Mason. This was/is one of Mason's glaring weaknesses. Had the pleasure of sitting next to a former NHL sniper during the playoff run and he pointed it out right away. Here we are a few years later and Mason is a siev because he didn't listen to instruction from his coaches and NHL scouts tore him apart.

This may be unlikely but I hope that because mason will have to compete for the starter job against Bob this will help Mason get better. But I am glad we have a goalie!!

Don't forget, this is the angle Howson tried last year with Dex/Sanford. We all know how that played out.

Mase just sucks. Sorry.

Unfortunately the guy he is thinking of had a junior slump too (as in junior being third year and not the CHL, small, etc) I think he forgot the

Oops he put the in; ignore at your own risk

Bob listens well and just. Eeds someone to teach him. Until he gotto the flyers he never had a goalie coach... Ever. I think he could split 50/50 this year and be a starter if he learns from the few problems he has.
