Any time you draft a player, unless you're talking about unearthly talent level, they could bust even if they have a lot of promise. So while there is no clear order probably after the first 2 picks it doesn't mean it's the worst draft ever - it's just a different kind of draft, it's a draft for the future with hopefully solid NHL players who probably aren't going to be elite players. At worst this could be like the 2007 draft, serviceable talent in round 1 and 2 and some late gems (and that wasn't a very good draft, I'm just saying if it's like that draft it's not the worst one ever and hopefully will be much better).
I do not think anyone can accurately ever really predict how well a player will play in the NHL......Whether its a # 1 pick or a 6th round player etc....Just way too many things can come into play like mental or physical troubles, chemistry problems, confidence shakers , a player trying too hard to live up to the hype etc.....You just never "REALLY" know how things will shake out for a young player. It is and always will be a crap shoot for the most part. There are always players who sort of slip through the cracks and get drafted deep in the draft or are not drafted at all and end up becoming real gems...
