Very interested to see who the Flyers target now. They've been so quiet and that's really surprising. I'm wondering if Semin becomes the top target and if they try re-signing Carle or if Carle ends up elsewhere.

B. Schenn, L. Schenn, and 2013 1st to Nashville for Weber (on the condition that the Flyers get to negotiate a long-term deal in advance).

(Not an endorsement, a prediction.)
Hmmm, I doubt it. I don't see Holmgren dealing the two brothers. Schenn was the major key in the Richards trade and I doubt Holmgren flips him after one season.

Semin and/or Mueller would be my targets with Parise out of the way. Maybe Kostitsyn. On defense, there's no one I really like (for the prices I'm assuming they'll command) so I'd rather just stand pat and have Bourdon/Gustafsson take the 6th spot.

I can't imagine him dealing one of them--but dealing both makes more sense (for us) than Coburn + Couturier--and offers Nashville a pair of young, core pieces at positions of need.
I should add to my post perhaps, I think the three forwards I listed could be had at a fairly reasonable price for what they bring (maybe not Semin), that's why I'd be interested. I don't think either is good enough to overpay for to bring to us, and we're pretty decent as we are without adding anyone from the outside.
I can live with a Schenn-Carle swap. For this season it's a step back, but Schenn does have upside and Carle isn't worth 5.5 million. Leighton though? That's horrifically stupid. He's a bad player, there are better options out there...options Homer made no attempt at. Again.

Montoya signed for 600k. I was hoping he would be an option before FA began and seeing what he signed for makes me SMH.
Instead of looking at replacing Carle's skillset, it should really be about replacing his minutes.
Schenn averaged 14:37 Even Strength last season. Timonen was 8th on the Flyers at 13:58. (Timonen was 4th the year before at 15:42).
Carle averaged 1:43 short handed and Schenn averaged 1:20, so his SHT is replaced with Schenn.
Carle averaged 2:28 PP time vs Mezsaros at 1:43 , Coburn 0:21 and Gustaffson at 0:33. I think between the three this is replaceable and likely preferable.
The hole is even strength where Carle led the team with 18:22. (Meszaros was second with 16:51).
I think the solution is to limit Timonen's Short handed time (3:28) and replace it with Even strength time and have Grossmann, Meszaros and Schenn (on top of replacing Carle) make up the difference.

Al Montoya at just $601k immediately comes to mind.

Not sure I agree with that b/c the skillset back on D has to match the coach's system..right now this D corps seems to be taking shape for Murray as opposed to Lavi..just saying....
Still plenty of great RFAs left. Should we consider putting out offer sheets before major trades?
Weber, E. Kane, Versteeg, Oshie, Perron, Benn, Subban, Green, Quincey.
I'd throw out offers to most of these guys (especially Benn and Oshie, huge fan of theirs). Weber is an obvious one, and Quincey is an interesting choice as well...
