six Americans taken in the first round...hardly a terrible draft, but should have been better...

rounds 2-4 will be loaded with US kids though, a ton of great highschool/chl Americans still to go....

2013 should be the start of some special drafts for the US...
It's obviously very early to be talking about this, but it's a very true statement. We could see as many as eight Americans taken in the first round IMO.

Six Americans in the first is solid, better then I thought. Two in the top ten is great. The USHL producing 6 first rounders is awesome. The Q only producing 1, and Dub producing 6.

On a side note regarding Galchenyuk; Im so sick and tired of people "tongue in cheek" saying he's American. It happened last night on the TSN broadcast, and it happens on these boards. The kid was BORN in the US. He has LIVED in the US. He has TRAINED in the US. He himself said he only has his US passport, considers himself American, and will play for the US internationally. If he was in fact Russian he would have been an import pick too, and Sarnia would have been in violation of the rules for having 3 imports.

Ive even heard/read media describing Henrik Samuelsson as a big Swedish forward. He may be a duel, but he has lived his entire life in the US, and was born in the US. He spend a good 6 years alone living in the Phoenix area, and also spent time living in New Jersey.
