I thought Columbus would be a top team this year due to Carter and Wisneiwski.

I said the oilers should have picked Larsson because I thought RNH was going to be a bust.

Disagreed with NYR fans who said Hagelin would be in the NHL by the end of the year.

WRONG
The Hockey News predicted that Ottawa would finish 15th in the East...and ended up eating crow.

As for my contribution - when the Islanders signed Matt Moulson and P.A. Parentau; the Islanders have made quality players out of both of them. And, that the Rangers would be a middle-of-the road team this year (given their youth).

After the Oilers traded away Gretzky, I said they wouldn't win another cup as long as Gretzky was still playing. Of course, Oilers won it a couple years later, and Wayne never got a another cup. I had it backwards.

Where do I even begin? Kaigodorov? Arnason? Bochenski?

I did pick the Sens to make the playoffs and finish above the Leafs this season, which I've been flogging my coworkers about for months now, but I haven't been right much.

Some of my better predictions for this season?

-Buffalo winning the division

-NJD as a lottery team. (I thought Brodeur was going to get injured and the team was going to spiral) Whooops.

-I thought Philly made excellent deals for Carter and Richards and there was no conceivable way the deals could backfire given that they went to separate teams in the Eastern conference. (I should get a mulligan for that one)

-Phoenix was going to have goaltending problems all season and was 2-3 years away from the playoffs without Bryz.

-Bryz was going to solidify the Philly net for a long time.

-Edmonton was FINALLY going to make the playoffs.

Jason Bonsignore is going to be awesome!!

And I remember in grade 3 or something like that arguing with a friend that Daigle was going to be better than Brett Hull.

I thought Paajarvi would be better than Hall & Eberle. Also thought Cogliano would be better than Gagner.

"The Phaneuf trade was pretty good, Flames added a scoring winger (Hagman), a young 2nd line center (Stajan), a young second pairing 2 way d (White), and a solid 4th line grinder (Mayers). All in return for a struggling Phaneuf, replaceable Sjostrom and some picks"

I think Bozak is a pretty solid player who is forced to play as the top line C because we don't simply have a top line C.

I think Bozak has the potential to be one of the best third line C's in the league if he can be allowed to remain in that spot.

As far as which PLAYER I've been way off on in the past, it has to be Hannu Toivonen who I thought would become a stud for Boston.

Justin Pogge was another that I was way off now but so were many others.

As far as forwards go, I thought Sam Gagner would become an elite first line C for Edmonton judging from what he did with London, but that hasn't happened. I still think he's the type of player who can turn it around with the right team - a change of scenery sort of thing.

Ian White hasn't turned out too bad - it's too bad that the Flames couldn't keep him and now he's a stud with the Red Wings. Jamal Mayers was as advertised; the rest of the trade though---and the extension given to Stajan---are fireable offenses.

BTW, what about that trade for Ales Kotalik?

Also, as another poster mentioned Justin Pogge---how hyped was he?

I thought Hanson was going to be a great center for the leafs and I thought Gus was would be a good starter. To be fair Gus isn't even bad just the team that would play infront of him didn't give him much support

Here are 4, the first one is really, really bad.

"We actually won the Gomez trade" me after the 2010 season, when Gomez was still producing (59 pts in the regular season, 14 pts in the playoffs), helping us get to the Eastern Conference finals and when McDo had not yet played an NHL game.

"Why did we draft a goalie (Price) with such a high pick when we already have Theodore" me after the 2005 draft.

"Not Americans (McDonagh and Pacioretty) once again" me after the 2007 draft. I didn't like the selections because I wasn't a fan of the Fischer pick the year before but both players turned out great.

"We traded the wrong goalie for a ****** return" me after the Halak trade.

Player - MPS (so far)

Team - 2003-2004 Avalanche. That team was stacked. Will never forgive Tony Granato.

Ok, ok... After 2004 WJC I though Olesz was looking like better pro prospect than Malkin.
