With Knight and Spooner next year, they might not suck so bad.

Not that I expected anything but... But I'm happy to see MacDermid is in the plans.

I'm a fan and would like to see him in Boston on a more regular basis this season.

We've also got Chris Bourque, like the greatest AHL'er around.

Surprised Arniel wasn't qualified, Bodnarchuk time has passed, too many G for Courchaine, Chaput is no loss.

If Chia had made up his mind to not qualify Pouliot, better to move him for at least a 7th Rd pick than nothing, can't believe a team wouldn't want him at that price, he had a decent year, good enough for a shot elsewhere. If Chia does nothing the weekend, I'd say Pouliot is qualified.

I still think they're going to qualify Pouliot unless they KNOW that they're going to be starting Jordan Caron full-time and that he is going to be 120% up to the task. That's a hard position to take right now.

You can qualify Pouliot for 1.2M, it'd be hard to imagine jettisoning a bogstandard third liner with a price tag that low when you don't have to. Even if Poo's not in the top 12 next year, that price tag is STILL pretty reasonable.

I had a funny feeling they were going to hang onto Rask.

I'm a little surprised they don't appear to qualifying Arniel. From what I gather he had a tough year statistically but was very good the year before and still played a decent checking/skating game. Seems like he might have a future as a checker.

Don't think the Bruins are done, Arniel will probably be next. Don't they have to make an offer by July 1 which is next week?

Yes, I'm not sure where "next Monday" is coming from, I was pretty sure that July 1 was the deadline.

Add to that Florek who had a nice short stint with them before the playoffs, Bourque with his AHL experience and scoring prowess, Cross with his leadership and Svedberg and you got a nice little addition to the team.

From Matt Kalman's Bruins blog:

With their last pick, the Bruins took Colton Hargrove in the seventh round (205 overall). Hargrove is a 6-foot-3, 209-pound winger who has been playing for Fargo of the United States Hockey League. In 54 games last season, he posted 16-22-38 totals. He will turn 20 Monday.

At 20 Hargrove is eligible to play in the AHL. He has good size and training camp will sort out whether he is good enough to crack the Providence roster.

Providence is looking good at this point.

I believe the offer has to be made by cob Monday (June 25).

Haven't heard of any additional qualifying offers being made, so looks like we're cutting ties with Arniel ...

Too bad... I liked him. Not so concerned with the others who weren't tendered.

Bruins definitely made a statement by not qualifying Arniel and Bodnarchuk. Glad they stuck to their word.

Don't know what happened to him this year, his offensive production was cut in half.

I've heard that he and Cassidy weren't on the best of terms ... It's just too bad that they chose to let Arniel go and keep Cassidy.

No doubt in my mind that Arniel will go back to normal under a real coach ... And that we'll see him in the NHL somewhere sometime in the near future. Guy has 3rd liner written all over him.
