That is the only exciting part about draft weekend for me. I dont know anything about any of the players who are going to be drafted.

One last thought before I go: I hope Ottawa overpays for Nash tonight. Zbad, 1st, Lehner....

I actually think there's potential here for it to be worse depending on who we take judging from the thread today haha. I'm fine with anyone of Yakupov, Galchenyuk, Murray, Forsberg, Dumba, Reinhart(not a huge fan, but could be good once he finishes developing), Rielly, Grigorenko. I trust that the scouts know more than me as to who they pick.

I fully expect Galchenyuk to be gone by the time we draft. The sore disappointment on this board will be a sight to behold. I'd eat my shoe if he does fall to us, but I'm not going to hype myself up just to be disappointed again.

I hope the Leafs get one of Grigo, Gally, Forsberg but I'd still be very excited to get Reilly too.

I dont know why but I feel we'll pick Reilly. Dynamic skater, high IQ and talented and has a good two way game.

I think he will be the best defenseman in this draft.

So they can kick our ass 6 times a year? I'm sorry but the Nash hate is getting annoying. If what you proposed is the going offer then I would bet Nash is still the best player in the trade..

Nash isn't a fit for Toronto because we have many other holes but he's a perfect fit for Ottawa

Zbad 1st Lehner is not an overpayment. They make out like bandits if that happens.

Lehner is a decent goalie prospect..nothing hard to get.
15th overall pick
Zbad is a good prospect.

Nash will be traded for impact players and futures. That deal is entirely futures.

Pretty much the same.

I am still curious to if burke pulls a completely new trick and does end up picking Grigorenko.

Its not uncommon for GM's or Execs to be at the Draft arena this far in advance.

Many just enjoy chit chatting with one another and taking in the experience as its not often GM's gather together in this magnitude.

The players generally start poking around at this time just to get acquainted with the process, media buzz etc, then head out to gather their nerves and come back closer to draft time.

This really sucks I feel like I'm sitting here waiting to watch my hopes get crushed. I hope Burke has some solid answers and a speech ready for Leafs nation when 99% attack Leafs MGMT for picking a d and not a forward. I mean if Gally/Forsberg are gone at 5 I can live with that, but if Grigs is available at 5 and we pass on him I'll be one of the people asking for Burke to be fired plain and simple. If that makes me and idiot or whatever so be it. WE DO NOT NEED A D-MAN !

Honestly, did you ever watch these guys play or are you just going by scouting reports? I just have these feeling that very few here actually saw those prospects play. I am just asking.

I don't get it. Having Dumba or Reinhart would be great for our future D-core. Don't be surprised if Morgan Reilly is a leaf after tonight as well.

Real rumors from legit sources going around that Murray is going 1st overall. If we end up with Yakupov, that would be amazing

This draft, in hindsight, has a chance to be a failure or success of epic proportions

Just draft galchenyuk/forsberg/grigorenko and call it a day. The only
Dman we should be considering at 5 is murray.

Please not trouba/dumba/reilly etc..
