TG thinks the same

Same here, I will attend both days, and drink a lot of beers sitting around on day 2 of the draft.

lulz our fans will complain about anything

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice
People complaining as if NHL did something bad to Devils by giving them draft next year have no clue. Devils applied for it. Wanted it.

I don't even understand what there is to complain about. How could this possibly be a bad thing? I can't wait to hear these arguments.

I saw a couple rival fans on FB try to spin it as a bad thing, as though the league was forcing the Devils to host it next year because they're "going to take control of them". People are really stupid sometimes, that's what it comes down to.

It's an incredibly good thing for the Devils and for Newark as well. Anyone complaining simply doesn't know what they're complaining about.

I looked around twitter a bit and the best I could find was a bunch of smartass Ranger fans commenting about a sea of blue at the draft. My god.

What could anyone complain about hosting an ASG?

You know what else this means guys? ASG not far behind.
Never bought that, still dont. The NBA draft is far-larger than the NHL draft.....no hotels.... draft in Newark. It's not like there arent a zillion hotels a short and convenient 16 minute train ride away from The Rock.

You can get to The Rock by train quicker than you can get from many cities hotels to a venue by cab. Hell, the Senators hosting the draft 2 or 3 times already pretty much blows up the Hotel Hypothesis to begin with.

Wouldnt read much into that one way or the other. Phoenix is bankrupt and owned by the NHL, but that certainly doesnt mean they couldn't host a draft or even an ASG.

TGfireandice: In statement, Devils' managing partner Jeff Vanderbeek thanks Bettman, Gov. Christie and Sen. Menendez for support in getting 2013 draft.

TGfireandice: I'm told Gov. Christie and Sen. Menendez both reached out to Bettman to help Pru. Center get draft.

The best of the draft is that there's usually a mini card/collectible show on the concourse during

Are they really that insecure that they need to brag about taking over at a draft? There will be cheers for the Devils pick, the Rangers pick, and the Islanders pick, and I expect all three fanbases to be represented well because it's being held in the NY Metro area.

You know to answer to this.

My guess is there will be as many combined Maple Leafs and Habs fans as there will be either Rangers or Devils fans. Those people are friggin' cray-cray about the draft.

O wow what great new to come home to but I would rather it be the ASG. Well at least we have a draft party no matter what next year.

85-90% Devils fans during the playoffs, I'm supposed to give two ***** if they invade a draft?

O man I hope this means we'll be getting the all-star game in a few years. That would be great.

Also is neat to see that Christie and Menendez were trying to make this draft in Jersey happen.

So can fans even attend this thing ? As a long time Devils fan I wouldn't mind planning ahead for this and going with my son to see it.

I figured it was going to come out West next season, but if it was going to be out East, I'm glad it's in New Jersey! I'll definitely be making the trip out!
