We dont have enough resources to trade back in because we're boneheads and kept Ruutu and Gleason.

Who is our third line center now? Welsh? No way we can place all our faith on him yet. Do Staal and Staal actually play together at even strength (I have my doubts about this)?

Tlusty - Staal - Skinner
Jokinen - Staal - Ruutu

or

Tlusty - Staal - Staal
Skinner - Jokinen - Ruutu

Props to Shero for being all class. Although I'm sir it's easier after bending us over. He looks giddy. JRs version of playing hard ball must be to curdle up in a fetal position and beg for mercy.

"I got a call at 4:30, we completed it about quarter to 7."

So it was not hinging on Forsberg being there.

Basically the same problem we had before the 2010-2011 season, the 3C hole. Only difference is that instead of assuming Sutter could play 2C, we KNOW that Jordan can. So now, as far as I'm concerned, we've got SEVERAL candidates for the 3C spot, including:

Nash
Rask
Jokinen
Ruutu
Welsh
FA

That's not a concern of mine. We are certainly a better team than we were 3 hours ago. The only question is if we'll be a better team 3 YEARS from now than we would've. TBH, I think we will. Still just really in a state of shock over losing Sutter.

OTHER NEWS: We've now got an open "A." I propose putting it on Gleason's other shoulder.

Shero was all class. A lot of respect was built with that.

I think #8 and Sutter is a pretty fair deal for Jordan. Adding Dumoulin seems like a bit much to me. I know he was only a 2nd round pick, but I think he's going to be a solid 2/3 guy for years to come.

Obviously Jordan will take it over and as soon as Marc joins Gleason is going to lose his A.

With Forsberg still on the board it's getting overlooked that Grigs and TT are still there too.

At this rate, Faksa's gonna fall far. That could be the 3rd line center answer right there.

The way everyone is taking defenseman, we still might get like our 3rd or 4th forward choice in the 2nd round.

The biggest hole in the Canes lineup was a 2C, which they addressed with the most ideal candidate if you combine skill, character and willingness/excitement to want to play in Carolina.

why the complaints?

I have to say, I love this trade. We need to be in the playoffs now. Not in 2 years.

Top 6:
Staal
Staal
Tlusty
Ruutu
Jokinen
Skinner

Bottom 6:
Dwyer
LaRose
Nodl
Brent
Stewart
[+1/3C]

Defense 6:
Pitkanen
Gleason
McBain
Faulk
Harrison
[+1]

That's a real hockey team!

Dmen dmen dmen.

JR, you'd make me a VERY happy man if you traded back up to pick Faksa. Then we'd have a complete roster that could maybe compete, and STILL have to sign someone good to hit the cap floor.

Murphy only dropped from #8(?) to #12. Both Fowler and Forsberg dropped a few more spots.

Trade Jokinen, trade Pitkanen, trade Ruutu, trade whatever you can, just take Faksa/ Forsberg.
