does Jake become expendable? Perhaps in a trade for Nash?

Erik Karlsson comparisons, which makes sense if they feel like Forsberg could go the route of MPS and Grigorenko isn't going to be anything special.

But I wouldn't be surprised if he made in very interesting in the fall at camp.
Neither would I, he's a physical beast. However I think he will be sent down to develop properly for a full year in the juniors due to this past season.

Schenn, Blacker, Percy have top 4. Gardiner and Rielly have top 2. If we pickup Schultz, we could be looking at a reallly strong point on D.

Very very happy with this pick, would have liked Forsberg, but after reading more about Rielly, I am very excited about this guy.

They take Forsberg.

Not if you are a GM, a scout....one of 20 employed and have to decide which one of the 18 year olds is going to help your hockey club for the next 10-15 years!!

Do you really think that Burke and his scouts left anyone on the table who would be the best for the Leafs????

HONESTLY???

So many Naive Hf posters who think that Burke and his staff didn't pick the BPA!!
get a job as a scout and then I may believe what you think the Leafs should pick!!!

LOL

Well I actually watch games so.. Sorry if my opinion is different.

BTW I at no point said "great" I but I think it's very solid group of players who will help the big club down the road.

I'm so happy! I had the opportunity to watch Morgan play a lot for two years at Bantam and Midget and the past two seasons in the WHL as well.

The first time I watched Morgan skate my jaw dropped.....he is a great young man as well....Burke got it right when he said he has a high hockey IQ as well. We were blessed today!

Wait until you see this kid play......his skill set is through the roof. Best D man in the draft!

My buddy is a head scout with Moose Jaw and said this is the best kid the Leafs could draft with talents like Galy and Yakupov being gone. Hard worker, great leader, unreal hockey IQ. Well done Burkie!

Clearly, the D trend at this years draft shows that most GMs were thinking the same thing, and Burke was ahead of the curve. We got the best offensive blue liner of the bunch.
