I don't post here normally, but I'll be back and remind you by seasons end.
Btw, there's several posters here who bashed me for bashing SnoWang at start of LAST season (they know who they are) regarding cap floor circumvention and poor player development and WEAK defense and most of all...signing dead weight free agents.

Enjoy, do backflips and continue the faith in a GM who is the joke of the league and an owner who obviously has many fooled. Sad.
Really sad.

Good stop-gap type move for a year... but God forbid we actually get a vet on the other side of 30, yet alone 35.

I think we all see that, but in this case it may be a win-win type of thing. Hopefully he can stay healthy, and still has it.

Lots of puckmoving elements on our blueline and in our defensive prospect stable.

Not much of that 'roughian' element.

He does, but don't kid yourself his cap hit vs his actual cash payout was a juicy part of this equation. Snow even said one of the bpt damn are kinda making the roster....hm they may be ready but tose entry level elc's are just what Wang wants.

No complaints about this deal. It's nice to add an actual NHL player to our roster.

Please continue to not post much here if all your going to do is kill the team and every move they make. We already have enough of those type of people here (they know who they are).

If we are out of it and he's playing well that could be a first round pick next year!

What Steal is this?
The guy is 36, small, injury prone, and not a stay @ home defenseman. Its just a cap hit to the floor. He will be dealt when we are in the basement in February. Nobody else wanted this guy hence we got him for peanuts. Oh Breaking News: the Isles just signed Jeremy Roenick out of retirement. You guys need to face the facts Snow and Wang = Trash!

As long as Vis stays healthy, which has been an issue, it is better to pay him 5 mill, as opposed to Rolston. He at least brings a game, but I don't know what we are in for in terms of work ethic & health.

This signing underscores our need for another solution who is young.

Garth can't call it quits on the blueline here. There still needs to be a trade.

He's getting paid 3 million and carries a 5.6 million cap hit. THAT cap hit is the highest on the team, yes higher than Tavares.

Nah...that had nothing to do with this guy...

100% correct. Acquired to help take up cap space while only costing $3 million in salary.

And I'd say giving up a 2nd round pick for a guy who will be 36 when the season starts and will only be here for one is way too much.

The Islanders are not at the stage of their rebuild where they can just toss away 2nd round picks for 1 year patchwork/rental type guys.

Don't know why so many people are happy about getting this guy. He's a big name but in terms of team building for the long haul, it's an awful move. If you're going to trade a 2nd rounder, I'd hope it be in a package for someone younger that could contribute for years to come.

Don't be shocked if the Islanders trade for Tim Thomas next. $5 million cap hit for him to NOT play for the team and just help them get to the cap floor.

Wang really is unbelievable.

I'm not a Wang/Snow supporter.. Not even close. When they make moves that need to be bashed I'm all over it. But a blind person can see that this was a good deal, for a second round pick in 2013 it's a damn good deal. Just because this isn't a trade for Shea Weber doesn't take away from the fact that it makes this team better.

Rolston was a salary cap move, plan and simple.

Vish is a hockey move. He will make the PP better and possibly teach the kids as well. Hopefully he will fall in love with the Isles like Nabby did and resign for a season or two.

Not at the stage of the rebuild to make moves? We are at the perfect stage to make moves for players and even the detractors to this trade agree with that. This team doesn't need and more prospects or picks WE NEED NHL PLAYERS to play along side our young talent.

Tim Thomas isn't happening we are probably going to be with a million or two after the Vis trade already..
