Ott is a good 3rd line option. Morrow needs to go though.
Our top six just got weaker. Where exactly do you think we're going to see Ott get used more often, providing we don't replace Ribeiro with some immediate help via free agency?
He's probably going to be 'tweener for most of the year again, seeing ample top-six minutes.
I hope I'm wrong though.

It's hard to get too worked up about this trade one way or the other. Stars aren't going anywhere any time soon and their current crop of prospects would likely put them in the same place a few years down the line. Unfortunately, we're stuck in that middle-of-the-road hell -- not good enough to make the playoffs (or do anything in the playoffs if we made it), not bad enough to get a franchise-changing player. Had the offense a few years ago, but no D; D's better now, but offense is weakened. Anyone see anything changing that?
Yeah, I think we are tanking next year unless we can get Parise. Any Morrow/Ott/Robidas/Ryder trade will just weaken the current team too. Hard to imagine we will finish better than this year.
I think Glennie will be the second line center out of camp. Or maybe even Faksa. I'm dead serious too... Could be one of those "Let's run with a young team and lt them grow together" sort of deals. Add some great veterans to help lead and I think we could have some pretty good results.

I'd prefer Glennie, believe it or not. For pretty obvious reasons.
Lol some comments in here are funny... Ya it looks like we are heading in the worst direction, but honestly everyone cries that joe needs to make a move.... Well he did and everyone still cries. Ya maybe he could have got a first, but for those of you who follow Eakin he's actually pretty good and plus he get a second
If we kept ribs there's no promise we would make the playoffs this year... I trust gmjn and I think he's doing a fast rebuild
Either way I stick by my team and I'm a very happy stars fan today. We got two good young centers plus a 2nd today!!!!
Enjoy paying 7+ million for 5 mins of solid play every 3 games. The only place I can see Semin succeeding is in Detroit on a line with Zetterberg/Franzen and Datsyuk.
Why are talking about Semin? He's not even a GMJN type of player (lazy and "hard to play against").
Dallas got something from the Ribs trade; a young center that has a chance in Dallas, and we cleared 5 mil. of salary.
Of course, I'm just saying this because I was never a big fan of Ribs. And GMJN likes to sell his players to the Eastern conference at a fairly cheap price (Grossman, Ribiero, Neal).
