Seems to be buzz that Pitt might make a run for Bobby Ryan now that he is available. Won't like it, but it would keep them away from our winger.

Pitt is without a doubt going to make a run at Suter hard now, they have to because they are screwed if they strike out (I totally see them taking Sal from us though if they strikeout on Suter). The weaksauce D being led by Paul Martin won't win anything.

I haven't done the full math, but wouldn't still be really close if not over if they signed both Zach and Suter at their market value? I get punting potential cap issues, but not at the risk of Crosby or Malkin. That doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

Think they would be better served going all in on Suter then getting pieces and you already got a scary ass team. I REALLY hope they strikeout, much rather Suter go to Detroit.

Staal going to the former Whalers is weird and hilarious, NHL Network even more so thinking that two Staals is going to bring Zach down there.

Let's the Pens get everyone. How often does the best team win anymore?

Pens were "unstoppable" last year too.

I'm just hoping that Parise's refusal of the Rangers goes for other Atlantic division teams too.

I'm shocked people haven't linked the Pens to Nash yet lol. That would make more sense than Ryan, who's enough of a ****** he'd probably complain about going there since he's a Philly fan and clearly wants to go there.

No way that they can afford to have Crosby, Malkin, and Nash signed to those huge contracts. That's 24 mil (more?) tied up in three guys. That's nuts!

I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. The Penguins clearly aren't expecting to go into the season like this.

Matt Duchene re-signed with the Avs:

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie

Matt Duchene's two year contract with COL is for $3.25M next season and $3.75M after that. AAV of $3.5M.

Seems like a short term for him, but it's a good second contract.

Wow, they really wanted to be rid of him, they didn't care what they got back. This has to mean Luongo to the Leafs.

I just want all these good players to stop being linked to Atlantic Division teams. lol

I feel like every year when good players become available they end up in our division.

Watch it will be something like: Suter to Flyers, Nash to Rags, Ryan to Pitt

Prust will bring good depth to some team, I'm surprised the Rangers are letting him go after their lack of depth was what killed them against us.

That's pretty scary, and realistic. The Atlantic only gets more competitive every year. Poor Isles

Never mind, now I understand why they are letting him go. $2.2 M is too much.
