Well, last year there was Brandon and Brett Sutter...

Also, when they were both on the Canes, there was Cam and Aaron Ward.

I know you asked for "current," and neither are, but there are two that suggest that, on the Canes at least, it isn't "common practice."

I don't really care about it though. Am I the only one that doesn't see it as the end of the world? People say it makes the jersey look weird, looks fine to me...

The Sutters were middle of the year though and everyone knew it was only temporary.

Aaron and Cam also played two different positions.

although at times, I was convinced it was Cam Ward skating around with #4 in 09/10.

I give you Kevyn Adams the center and Craig Adams the winger. THEY played two different positions as well, and THEY had the initials on the jersey.

In the end, does it really affect anyone's enjoyment of the game THAT MUCH? It really is a sign that the season needs to start, we're talking about the addition of ONE LETTER to a guy's jersey.

I like seeing the extra letter on there. It reminds me that we're gonna have both of them for a decade.

Seriously, are we really complaining about this?

In the lower bowl we don't need to see the initial, understand their skating stride, or anything else because we can actually see their faces and hear their voices from where we sit. We can also visually verify that the game is really played with a puck and not just wait for some red light to come on to know that a goal is scored.

I usually sit in the lower bowl too. My point was to express that those of us here can all probably recognize skating strides and players from the moon if we had to since we're all die hard fans if we've sought out a message board. I know this was sarcasm, but we really don't have "fan" and "non fan" sections in the .... PNC like they do in Toronto where the suits in the lower bowl reside. Our tickets being affordable enough where everybody can access them.

I know, I was just having fun with you.

BTW, has anyone else in LL south seen the guy that comes to every game and wears headphones (not sure what he's listening to) and reads a book for most of the game and even falls asleep for part of it. He's a STH also. Even though the tickets are cheap (relative to more traditional markets), kind of weird to pay that much and completely ignore most of the game. Sits about half way up in 125 or 126 along the aisle.

As an aside, I was just looking at the main board and while there, I learned that a hockey team's tr00ness is directly proportional to the price they charge for tickets.

I don't always sit in the lower bowl, but when I do, it's because I snuck down there when the usher wasn't looking.

I'm in a new keeper league and I'm wondering how you guys think Jordan Staal will be because I might draft him.

Who do you guys think will be on his line?

Two of Eric, Skinner, Ruutu, Jokinen and Tlusty. (barring any UFA signings or trades).

It's still not known if he'll center Eric's line or be our #2C.

I haven't even made up my mind what I would prefer!

Staal-Staal-Tlusty would be an great first line, IMO.

Or Jordan on the second line with Skinner? Eric on the first with Skinner and Tlusty?

Drop Tlusty to line #2 and move up Ruutu?

What do you guys think?

Staals together on the PP though...

FA / E Staal / LaRose
Skinner / J Staal / Tlusty
Jussi / Welsh / Ruutu

My preference is to have Eric as the 1C and Jordan as the 2C. I have no idea which forwards would go with which center, but if Tlusty's in the top 6, he'd probably be best with Eric as they had some chemistry together last year. And Skinner and E. Staal didn't seem to work that well together, so probably him with Jordan.

Tlusty - Eric - LaRose
Nodl - Brent - Stewart
Jokinen - Jordan - Ruutu
Wallace - Boychuk - Dwyer
