Injury prone, but LOVE the pick.

Quote:
#16 - Branden Troock - Seattle Thunderbirds - RW -

Troock is a big bodied forward who plays physical, has a nose for the net and can finish. He's got a hard shot and skates well for someone of his size and stature. A pretty well rounded player but still pretty raw considering he missed much of the last two seasons with various injuries. Strong showing at both the Top Prospects game and for Canada at the Under 18's.

NHL Style Comparable: Blake Wheeler

Top End Potential: Top 6 Winger

Pick Prediction: 4th Round

Did Nashville take a timeout or something?

A little bit like the Ritchie pick last year. Banking on a big season once he's healthy.

He had same injury as Sidney Crosby. Some kind of neck nerve thing. He was probably pretty tentative when he first got back on the ice.

There's our goalie.

Not quite on Jokipakka's level name-wise, but close.

Kiviaho wasn't even ranked by Central Scouting. Takko must think he's really found something. I trust him.

Why pick the unknown Kiviaho when Richard Ullberg was available... Ullberg played 23 Finnish Elite League games and looked promising. Also great in international U20 games. Why.

As piqued said, I'm assuming this is a Kari Takko pick. He must see something in Kiviaho that Ullberg doesn't have.

As piqued said, Takko (one of our Euro scouts) must have seen something he liked. EDIT - beaten again, by Modo this time...

Ullberg is almost a full year older as well. And we're looking for guys who'll stay in Europe/college for as long as possible. We have no room in the AHL/ECHL at the moment.

GMJN talking to Wilson (San Jose). Interesting.
