Not sure about others but I didn't want to move up for Forsberg, I was just hoping he'd fall to 15.

Then again we needed a d-man this draft so kind of glad Washington made it easy for us to choose.

Do you have any good reads on him? I've never heard of him before.

-Jordan Shmaltz is a horrible pick.
-So happy we didn't draft Maatta.
-Derrick Pouliot is way to high imo. Penguins could've got him with their second pick.
-Slater Koekkoek is a good pick but too early imo. Like Calvin De Haan.
-Hampus Lindholm is a good pick too, just Anaheim could've traded down.
-I like Calgary's pick of Mark Jankowski.

Ottawa probably could have offered more, but listening to Shero I got the sense there was only one team for Staal, Carolina.

It was mentioned, but the fact that Ceci, Maata and Teravainen were all left when he was picked assured us of a stud. Therefore no one was really in a hostile mood.

I don't doubt Murray anymore. Statistically a great Drafter from what we've seen. If he selects Ceci then I'm sure he sees qualities in him that may make him a quality nhler.

It was the fact that our table was visibly beaming right before our pick that makes you realise how good they feel about the pick. Murray didn't even hesitate to proclaim him a top 10 pick on our board.

Well the way Murray operates leaves one to think that if he likes a 100 ranked player at 15, he'll take him. He's not afraid to make a pick based on his own scouting and analysis of the player.

I was secretly hoping for murray to name some player I've never heard of. I trust the scouts that much. I don't think Karlsson was in the top 100 for hockey news in 2008.

Strengths:
NHL calibre clapper
Great puck rusher
Great hockey sense
Good passer
Good skater for his size
Good to great positional play

Weaknesses:
Not very physical
Can get beat downlow by smaller faster guys if they get a step due to his lack of physicality
Sometimes gets caught with his back to the puck and looses track of the play

Well looks like he can be taught what he needs to work on so thats good news. I found when I watched him the only complaint I had was his mobility defensively, ie turning with players and gaping up to force mistakes. But those games were in the playoffs and he was playing ton of hockey he was probably tired.

Yeah, I did notice the grin on Tim. I do think they had him higher that 15 and perhaps even 8 or 9. It will be interesting to see if they got it right again

Murray said they couldn't believe he made it past 10.

Just the Bryan Murray troll face at the draft table tells you how good of a pick this is.

Does anyone have pics of Bryan and Tim smiling at the draft table? It's worth seeing many times over and over.

I couldn't be happier with the Ceci pick!

I hope we get a second round pick to get Colberg, Aberg, or Frk!

What's with the rap star like entourage Codi has with him? It just seemed to put me off seeing all that, kinda Lindros-like weirdness/vibe to it all.... Is this kid's head screwed on right and just his entourage is messed-up?
