- An evening scrimmage (5-on-5) will take place on Thursday, June 28, at 7 p.m. at the Bell Sensplex. The scrimmage will be followed by a meet-and-greet reception with Senators season-seat owners in the fieldhouse on the lower level of the Sensplex.

- The annual 3-on-3 tournament is set to take place at the Bell Sensplex on Monday, July 2, at 9:45 a.m.

- Off-ice workouts on the mornings of June 27 and June 28 and afternoon workouts on June 29 and June 30.

- An outdoor welcome to Ottawa team-building event in the afternoon on July 1.

- An information session on injury recovery led by Seantors head atheletic therapist Gerry Townend.

- A specialized sport nutrition/cooking seminar held by creative nutrition specialist Molly Morgan.

Interesting, no Silfverberg, Petersson or Da Costa on the list of players invited. I wonder why.

Guys usually reach a point where the team considers them to be pro's, and not prospects. Seems as though these guys have gotten to that point.

Interesting to see no Wiercioch either.

I am a bit surprised that Pettersson and Da Costa are not attending, both players could use a lot more physical development.

It doesn't mean they aren't doing the appropriate things on their own, or even with the Sens staff separate from the camp.

For the families it's not a big deal. Apparently they just don't care about the hungover young adults among us (myself included).

Interesting that Jarrod Maidens has been given #27... the Sens org must be high on him to give him a real number, you know?

If these guys are out partying that night, while attending an NHL camp, we have more to be concerned about then how the play Monday morning.

Nah, it's been like this for a few years now. They have a set of jerseys that they rotate every year. The number 38 given to Ceci was Condra's number, etc. It's cheaper than buying new jerseys every year, they just change nameplates.

Only issue is when these guys get called up, they usually have the same numbers they had then, like Weircoch with 46 or Hoffman with 68.

Thanks for clarifying that for me! At any rate, excited for the Sens camp. Wish I weren't so far away from Ottawa... but southern Manitoba, in Jets country, isn't exactly prime turf for Sens fans.

Outside of Cowen, Silfverberg and Sorensen (who's rights are not being retained by the Sens), every single player taken in the last 4 drafts is attending the camp.

Additionally, Mark Borowiecki (2008) and Ben Blood (2007) are also invited as well as previous undrafted free agents signees Wacey Hamilton, David Dziurzynski and Cole Schneider.

As mentioned, the only possible attendees who are not coming are free agent signee Stephane Da Costa, 2008 draftees Derek Grant, Andre Petersson and Patrick Wiercioch and 2007 draftee Louie Caporusso.

I can't remember the exact quote but I remember one of the Murrays saying there really isn't much you can learn at these things after 3. While there is new information and training techniques, its nothing that can't be learned on the fly and once guys turn pro playing against a bunch of 18-19 year olds in drills isn't really all that beneficial either.

I would assume with Boro it is just because he lives in town, so why not invite him if he wants to come and show the kids how to train like a pro.

Randy Lee "The guys who have really improved and are close to making our team, we've got to fine tune them and say that, to give them a legitimate chance to make the team next year, this is what they've got to do,"

http://senators.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=636009

The sens website mentioned that this camp can be a springboard to enhance the opportunity for some of the top prospects who have a real chance of making the sens out of training camp. The three top prospects they mentioned are Zibanejad, Stone and Borocop.

I would think that Silfverberg, Weircioch and Gryba could use that extra edge as well.

Other than those players, the only players that have a real chance for pushing for a spot are Noesen, Prince, Hoffman, Dziurzynski, Ceci and Da Costa. I am still a bit surprised that Da Costa isn't attending this camp because he still has a lot of work to do in terms of physical development. Then again that may be the only thing holding him back at this point and he could be getting that training/advice elsewhere.
