Based on the guys I know, the Habs had a phenomenal draft. Look at those first five picks. The benefits of sucking and holding onto your picks.

Gally
Thrower
Bozon

Who else did they get? Those are well known names. And I think Gally will be a stud. 80 pt 1c

Edit: Collberg too, another borderline 1st

I would assume the pronunciation of his name is ZEL-chick.

I knew a kid with the same last name, same spelling and all and it was pronounced Grizz-lick. Not sure if it is the same here though.

Not saying we had the strongest draft out of the 30 teams. But I wasn't expecting that based on where we were picking.

It seemed like a draft by a team that is fully aware of their identity. I have a strong appreciation for that.
Wasn't really directed at you more than the board in general.

I agree what the Bruins did today was strong in principal. They had needs, they knew what they wanted and they picked players based on those things. Strong strategy that has been working for us so might was well embrace it.

I think they're the clear winners of this draft with Buffalo and Washinton as well

Galchenyuk for sure. Had Collberg as a 1st rounder and Thrower and Bozon in the early to mid parts of the 2nd round. They also have 4 top picks in the first 60 next year with 3 2nd rounders. I hope PC hangs on to our picks, every year there are surprises and players drop

I love Montreal's direction now with Bergevin in charge.

Dallas had a very, very good draft IMO as well.

Thanks. Good advice based on some of the other garbage I've read that he/she has posted. I thought this was a site for Bruins fans!

No doubt. I wrote that last night- Habs beat everyone at the draft table. I also like what Buffalo, Toronto and Washington did.

Bruins draft was a mixed bag from my pov.

agree with joeisastud about the b's draft...could be as bad as the columbus disaster of 2007. only time will tell.

Griffith is a good player, other than that it's 2007-2008-2009 all over again.

2 clear tendencies. The Bruins love the 5'9" defenseman (Ference, Warsofsky, Krug, and now Grzelcyk) and they love the fighters with "potential" (MacDermid, Randell, Camara, and now Payne and Hargrove). Almost like they are trying to pick Sweeney and Neely. The reach for Lucic did pay off but how many of him or Neely are there?

I think the only picks I like at their spots are Griffith and Benning though I'm starting to come around on Subban.

Grizzy may turn out to be a great pick and I hope he does. It was unfortunate Kosmachuck and Calnan were taken earlier that round but Melindy and Kulak were both still there.

And I don't like the fighters taken when Iafrate, Gudbranson, and Ebert went undrafted or last overall. Iafrate and Gudbranson are just going to add to next year being the best draft ever.

We will have to wait 5 years before any of these players potentially come to the NHL and evaluate the Bruins success then.

Gudbranson really is nothing special, most of his pedigree is based on his last name. Iafrate's pedigree probably receives a slight bump because of his last name but I do think he's pretty good and would have been fine with the Bruins taking him in the sixth or seventh. Iafrate and Fox are the two most surprising not getting drafted prospects for me, I figured both would go for sure.

Here are Bill Ladd's thoughts on the draft overall: http://www.nhlmockdraft.org/2012-nhl-draft-musings/

And Kirk Luedeke's article on the Bruins draft picks: http://www.hockeyjournal.com/blog/ki...mediate_impact

Thanks guys.
