Probably Setoguchi + 7th + Brett Bulmer

I think know too little of Sutter then because I didn't have him pegged as this high of a skill player.

Ahhh, it's getting late. I better save face and go to bed. See ya

Staal's agent announced he wouldn't sign an extension. Players can "tamper" with themselves, but not other players under contract. There was no violation.

That's why I'd laugh my tail off if Suter or Parise sign with a team completely out of the loop. Can you imagine that chaos if Parise signs with.....the Leafs?

Zid sure tampered with himself.

Btw, what the heck was Jordan Staal thinking getting married on draft day, the year before his deal is up, when he *clearly* knew he wasn't going to sign in Pittsburgh to be a 3rd line center for the next 10 years?

Did his fiancee make him do it to prove his love? Gosh, I hope not, or that marriage is in trouble.

Did his brother, who obviously is there, do some kid of Machiavelli thing to arrange that to make the final push as secret go-between on going to Carolina?

God, thinking about:
13-14

Suter - Gilbert
Scandella - Brodin
Dumba - Spurgeron

:O That's...a wicked defense

Or maybe it was just something to get his mind off the whole situation, knowing it would likely be resolved today he made sure he was plenty busy so he didn't have to sit around and worry about it.

People have made way too big of a deal out of the whole thing.

Well, I've spent the last hour or so looking at Dumba. I'm happy with the pick. Not as happy as I'd be if we took my boy Trouba, but damn if I'm not a bit excited now.

Now hopefully we can package our 3rd this year and next, along with a 4th, to move up into the early second so we can snag Collberg and then choose Jake McCabe with Washington's 2nd. McCabe is my last and final hope of my magnificent NCAA trio of defenders I wanted the Wild to choose. Come on, Fletch. Get it done.

Only to a degree. Jordan could not tell, announce, whatever, that he'd only sign an extension in Carolina. Yet, somehow, everyone knew it.

Dumba. Collberg. McCabe. That's how you walk out of Pittsburgh with a win.

Pretty sure he can. As I said, players can tamper with themselves. That's why Parise hasn't been nailed by the league by saying he wouldn't sign with the Rangers.

last post.

Collberg would be a nice treat if available at #46. I doubt he slips that far, but we'll see.

If we want Collberg, I think we'll have to move our 2nd for it. Two thirds and a 4th isn't going to get that done. Now, we might be able to do our 2nd + 1 or both of our 2013 3rds. That leaves both our 2012 3rd and 4th to try snap up a falling McCabe or Kulak at the end of the 2nd.

I don't think we'll find a way to get Collberg unfortunately. Frk might be more reasonable.

I'm really hoping we land McCabe tomorrow. If we can get Collberg too, double win.

Good example. Guess I'll have to do a little more research on that one.

Someone in the Draft thread in the Prospects' forum said the funniest joke about this very thing, but I can't recall it exactly. Went something like....

Staal's fiance: "to have and to hold, for bett.."
Priest: "Wait. We have a trade to announce."
