Forsberg also scored a hattrick the other day during the scrimmage.

The US evaluation camp scrimmages start Saturday. Carrick, DiPauli & Haar are on Team Blue, Boyd on Team White. Schedule here.

I believe Forsberg & Djoos will both be on the visiting Swedish team.

The Canada/Russia Challenge starts a week from tomorrow in Yaroslavl. TSN is covering the four-game exhibition so maybe there will be some streams.

Is there any chance Forsberg gets a chance in the SEL? Not sure how the system over there works.

Just logging in after a few days off to post the links and info. but looks like you have the information updated. I was glad to see Djoos added to the camp roster and games against the Czech Republic, but have you seen anything to confirm which players are expected to travel to Lake Placid? The team departs for the US on August 3, but I haven't seen Sweden post a shorter roster or any chatter with specifics. Pretty sure there's another game today before the final roster is determined for the trip. Ok, yes, I just looked at the schedule and there is one more game today, so I assume final roster for the trip will be determined later today.

As to the USA, I hope the Caps prospects perform well and play throughout the camp, as in past years some players will get cut during the camp and not play in all the games. Camp starts Saturday, August 4.

I thought I had seen a list linked to but it had to have been preliminary. Looks like they'll cut 12 players before leaving and 2/3 should be D. Hard to say whether Djoos will make the cut. He's the smallest of the D but may be the type of player they'd want to see in more competitive situations.

Djoos won't be going to Lake Placid, he was concussed in todays game against the czechs. The coach thought he played well and was impressed by his overall talent level.

So 1g 1a is Forsbergs point total for both games?

2g and 2a in two games against the czechs and 3g in one scrimmage. Not sure he particapated in the second scrimmage, most players played 3/4 games. He is now on the official roster to Lake Placid, the games there will be streamed on fasthockey.com.

Right, they had the larger roster for the camp and games before cutting it down to 22 players for the trip to Lake Placid, similar to previous years, Here's the link to the Swedish roster for the Lake Placid scrimmages/games. Too bad about Djoos getting injured. Following up on Perry's post, here's an article in Swedish posted over at Japers Rink about Djoos' injury. link

Also, as usual Chris Peters at the http://unitedstatesofhockey.com blog is providing some coverage so head there for background on the USA players, etc.

One more note, USA cuts likely will happen late Monday or Tuesday since that’s when they go from Team Blue and Team White to one USA team for the remaining practices and scrimmages/games. Last year, they cut down to 29 players from 44 and made the announcement on Tuesday.

Forsberg has been a little unlucky with the registered points. He should have gotten a secondary assist in the first game when he broke up a pass and gave it to Karlsson who gave it to Åberg who scored the first goal. Jeremy Boyce Rotevall got the only assist on that goal but he was not even on the ice. He should also have gotten one more secondary assist today and could probably have gotten 2 more if the refs had used video replay on Lindholms shot.

Anyway, he has been good these last two games. His first assist to Karlsson was a beauty where he skated around the defence and the goal and centered it perfectly. His goal came off a good one-timer on a 2 on 1.

I hoped Carrick would stick around a little longer but I guess his chances are pretty small of making the US team in December.

Yeah I'm thinking by the lack of secondary assists, 2 total in 10 goal game, that the scorekeepers are terrible...

Edit: Its not on the stat sheet for the game but overall stats say 2 assists 1 goal, so they counted it... I guess.

Forsberg actually had 3 assists, he took the puck from a Finnish player, passed it to Zibenjad, which then was Karlssons first goal.
