Who would have believed a few weeks ago that we would be sitting june 23 with both Galchenyuk and Collberg?

Wow.

Rumors yesterday night was saying that Bergevin tried to move up to get a late pick in the first round.. I guess that's the player he wanted. He must be happy to see that he was still available for the habs

I think they said he wanted Matteau.

You never know, but I'm not particularly high on Matteau's upside personally.

The one that's super excited after the goal is Mikael Rehnberg.

This may end up being one of, if not THE steal of the draft.

We drafted Magnus Nygren last year...John Westin a couple of years ago. Nicholas Torp before that.

But on the NHL level, we definitely haven't had much success with Swedes.

I wonder how much the addition of Christer Rockstrom has influenced our recent run on Swedes.

Le Petit Viking #2?

Edit:
Collberg made his Elitserien debut on December 7, 2010. He played on a line with Victor Backman and Johan Sundström in Frölunda's 2-1 OT win in Södertälje. Collberg registered 3:14 of ice time and became the tenth youngest player to parttake in an Elitserien game.

Ranked 3rd among European skaters by NHL Central Scouting and the only skater that's been picked to play in the Swedish Elite League.

Sounds like an exciting pick

Fantastic pick! I was hoping to nab either Matteau or Collberg, but honestly I didn't think we'd be able to do it without moving up. Absolutely loved this kid at the WJCs. He's at least a Kristo level prospect, if not better, which puts him pretty much at the top of our winger hopefuls.

He's got swag too. Isn't he the only that rode his stick after scoring in a shootout? I love it. Someone has to make that a "Haters Gonna Hate" meme.

This is such a steal. I saw him outplay Forsberg offensively several times at the WJC and U-18.

He's better than Kristo by a fair margin from what I've heard. Just shows how much of a steal it was at 33. Couldn't be more happy with the pick.
