Sounds like a pretty solid defenseman.
True although he'll open the year against the U at Mariucci in October.

He sounds more like an actor not an NHL player.

Oh, Edina gets called cake eaters inside the metro too!

I didn't even know they were called Edina. I thought the city name was Cake Eater.

I like the pick, that's 2 defensemen with our top 3 picks. I like the pick, he's got a ways to go, but with the progress he's shown, he could be a good pick. He'll get to play a physical game playing NCAA hockey and we can let him develop for a while. Let's hope he continues to grow his offensive game.

I really like taking NCAA defensemen outside of the first round. Gives the team longer and better terms of contract control and development if the player needs it. If they show they're ready sooner rather than later, they can pressure him to leave early. None of the big hurdles like they face with CHL draftees. Maybe once every five drafts one team gets burned a la Schultz/Wheeler, but not often enough to care.

God you guys are a bit insufferable about this cake eating crap.
He was the best player available in the Wild eyes, they took him. It just happened he came from their own backyard.

Because he is a cake eater. Cake eaters are for life. They can't change.
