No Morrissey? I guess they're giving him a break after playing 500 games this year.

So, 5 days.

Hellebuyck goals allowed over/under starting on 2.5 goals!

Any free agents that the Jets might be willing to sign? Can anyone tell me about Justin Hickman?

Interesting to see Karlstrom on the list. Was he at this camp last year? Could he play in North America in 2014-15?

He was at last years too.
He has an one year contract for Allsvenskan this season.

Nice to see local boys Zajac and Harms get invited, both playing NCAA. As I said in other thread Serville and Copp most likely didn't want to pay their own way, and JST maybe wants to become a FA Aug 15th.

Already time for Jets hockey

Interesting with no Morrissey on the list. But after playing so much this year, it doesn't matter.

Can't wait to hear how everyone does! Seeing Ehlers in a Jets jersey will be awesome

This team is less inspiring that previous squads, no?

I mean obviously we're still going to destroy all the other teams because we're #great.

Not surprised considering all the games he played last season.

I noticed Copp wasn't on the list. Couldn't afford to pay his own way I guess.

Those NCAA rules suck. For decades they have been paying players under the table (especially in Football and Basketball) .... Yet it's against the rules to have pro team pay their way to a development camp.

Is there a particular logical reason that NCAA athletes aren't allowed to have their attendance to these camps paid for by the team? I know players with or have had contracts aren't allowed to play which has a degree of reasoning, but unless I'm missing something it seems a bit unreasonable IMO.

They lose amateur status.
There are a lot of ridiculous things about the NCAA's rule on remaining an "amateur", I actually think this one makes sense.

Players are not allowed to receive any compensation during their time on college.

I believe the reasoning is that to be a student athlete, you can't be getting paid to be an athlete, otherwise it'd be unfair to the other student athletes. It is meant to be maintained strictly amateur. Same reason why as soon as an NCAA athlete signs a pro contract, they are no longer eligible to play college hockey.

Still doesn't make sense to me. NCAA players have all of their equipment paid for, all of their travel expenses to/from away games, including a per diem for meals.

This is the same thing the Jets and NHL other teams do for their prospect camps for players not under contract - unless I'm missing something and all the prospects receive additional $$$ ...

Oh, and by the way, Morrissey won't be there for two reasons (1) He played a ton this season and showed everything he has to show and (2) the Jets want him rested up for training camp and the regular season in Winnipeg.
