3 Belleville Bulls in the forts 100 picks. Pretty good for my favorite Jr team. If this guy can find another half step in separation speed, he could be deadly.

I like this pick, maybe he will play in two year with Yakupov on the second line.

The draft was pretty meh but this pick really makes it up for me. He's gonna be a beast, could be a Rieder like pickup. Except for he's 6'3 200.

Zharkov - ???? - Yakupov

OOOOHHH! Love the internal trash talking. Welcome to the Oilers Mr. Zharkov. Having all this young talent pushing each to be the best is going to be fun to watch.

Zharkov's development is such that I would not be surprised if he took a quantum leap forward in the next 12 months. When you watch him, the first thing that stands out is how pro-ready his game is; yes, there's an ascertainable wow factor to it, but he goes to time-tested methods of attack, support and protection when involved in the play. Not only is that not typical for a Russian prospect, but any prospect- especially one with the shot arsenal and patience he possesses. Really like this pick.

Great pick. Size and skill. He does come with a bit of the Russian factor but I have to assume that Stu covered this base in their interview. He had a good showing at the WJCs.

This pick seems to be the general consensus for best pick of day 2

He calls himself a Canadian now. I don't think there's much of a Russian Factor there.

So is the Russian factor the biggest reason why he fell? It sounds like he has 1st round talent and he's obviously filled with confidence plus has all important size.

There's a strong chance that he become better than Moroz. He will probably put more points.

Really enjoyed this kids interview. Between being pissed he got picked lower, to saying he wants to "beat" Yakupov and play better than him, to saying he is a Canadian hockey player and doesn't want to play in Russia. I like it!

From a Sens fan - This was a great pick by the Oilers. He would have been a risky late 1st or 2nd but where you guys managed to grab him, he is a steal. I get to watch quite a few Bulls games thanks to the 67s being in the same division and I always come away liking Zharkov more than Gaunce. Zharkov has 1st round hands, and shot and his skating is a big asset as well imo. He's inconsistent and detached at times but there's plenty of time to develop that and no better place for him to do it than the CHL.

He's kind of a Russian sniper archetype in how he plays but you'll see him play with an edge at times and if he can do that more consistently, people will be wondering why this player didn't go much much higher.

Cheers.
