Seeing how sutter is the only price that played in the NHL I feel you have to say your wrong.

Pouliot shouldn't have been a top 10, kind of evens out with Matta going 22nd thoe. And the other prospect they received is more of a project

My point in saying "I was Right" was in regards to what Howson got today. He did wait too long.

This is idiotic. How can you know whether he made a mistake until you know what else he was offered. Nash had a gun and demanded a trade. His contract limited the number of teams that could afford him.

In contrast, Staal never demanded a trade and had a very good contract.

Only one year left on it though.

And when Staal turned down the 60 million deal, he did force Pittsburgh to make a move.

Considering that the deal Howson accepted today was a watered down version of the Rangers offer at the deadline, I can conclude that RogerRoeper was right.

No it's actually quite sane, he's dragged this on as if he was holding Nash to some higher standard and if he didn't get the return he wanted he would be happy to keep Nash.

I won't speak on rumoured deals because we may never know for sure what happened but if This was the best return he could get for Nash then he probably should have pulled the trigger before the draft. But hey grats on the top 9 forwards erixson and a 20+ first.

The Michalek trade is something I don't think I will ever understand, but the Staal trade was good.

As for Howson, I'm not surprised. He's one of the worst (if not the worst) GM's out there. Just gave Rick Nash to NYR and didn't get one of Krieder/Stepan/McD/Del Zotto back.

For sure. If Despres wasn't here, he'd make a very strong push to make the roster this year at camp.

Yeah. CBJ got robbed.

Now, how about bumping some of your Kings threads from earlier in the season.

Scott Howson allegedly gets offered a great deal for Rick Nash by the Rangers at the deadline, turns it down. He believes he can get more. The better offers fail to come at the draft, so now Howson believes after July 1st he'll strike gold. The problem is, Nash making a top 5 cap hit. Who's going to have the money/cap room to add him? Howson has made a horrific blunder and the gravy train for Rick Nash has left the station. The best offers for Nash have come already.
That's a pretty clean "called it" if I ever seen one.
