Expectations for Mueller

Wondering what people's expectations out of Muller will be for next season?

He finished the year with 16 points in 32 games, but 9 of those points came in the final 14 games. Considering he hadn't played in over 2 years and could clearly see that conditioning is an issue his 40+ point pace over a full year is rewarding to see.

I expect him to be on the top PP unit next year and get around 15 - 20 goals and 20 - 30 assist, putting him around the 35 - 50 point range. 35 on the low end depending if he comes back strong and our PP is effective and 50 if everything goes well.

I don't expect him to touch the ice on the PK. He and McGinn are probably the only players I don't want to see out on the PK.

Other than that play in the top 9 lines with either Stastny, Duchene or RoR. I want to see him with Duchene first since Muller is a skill guy and Duch meshes well with them. Who will be on the other side of the line is still up for grabs between Duke, Olver and lastly Downie.

Its hard to say really, part of me just wants him to play the full year healthy with no issues at all, but part of me also thinks that he should be able to have a good year with a full offseason of training.

I think, anything over 20/20 will be fine by me, if he can hit 50+ points I would be very happy with him. But I also wouldnt be to dissapointed if he just played the entire year and had no concussion setbacks.

My final prediction, 21/26 for 47 Points, and +4

I just want a 20 goal season and if he can get 45-50 points also that would be great.

If he has a healthy season, 20 goals.

No reason why he can't get upwards of 60 points if healthy. Insanely talented, the better conditioning should go a long way in terms of production.

Next Year? A healthy season and ~20 goals.

In the future? 30-35 goal season at the minimum.

I feel if he never makes it back to the 30+ goal potential then a great injustice was done to him by Blake.

I agree.

I'll say 25 goals 30 helpers for 55 points.

This team could be so good in a few years. 3 #1 Centers all capable of putting up 60+ points, 2 of them possibly more. Mueller and Landeskog could both be 30+ Goal scorers, Jones should be good for 20-25 a year, potentially even 30 in a good year. Downie is a solid 2nd/3rd line guy who could score 15-20 aswell. And then you have McGinn who really could end up being anything.

AND, we still have Olver, Sgarbossa, and Hishon who all could be Top 6 talents in the comming years.

Its gonna be alot of fun the next few years watching this team devellop into a Powerhouse team. Greg from accounting has really done a fantastic job with team, outstanding work, very underrated GM.

I'd be happy with anything over 15 goals. Scoring is decreasing league-wide, but reaching 20 would be reasonable. If Hejduk can keep up this year then that line being reunited as our third (O'Riley the second C) would be nice to see.

Edit: Wow, didn't realize I'd never posted before. Hello everyone. On the official forums I'm kid_line, but I'm also done with them for the most part.

Welcome aboard. I hope Hejduk isn't counted on anything higher than the 4th line, but who knows. Maybe he has a bounce-back season; not impossible.

I'm going to be optimistic and say 60+ points. I fully expect him and Dutchy to bounce back and be our go to line next year.

20+25 would be nice. If his conditioning is back at 100% and he gets a lot of PP time and offensive zone starts he might hit 30+35.

Glad to have you over here!

And I am pretty much on the same page as you for this season. 15+ goals for Mueller this season would make me pretty happy. 20+ would be preferred (who wouldn't say that!).

I will try not to get ahead of myself here and think about after the 2012-13 season. One step at a time for Mueller.

If he is healthy, 20 goals is the absolute minimum with his talent level. Actually more like 25 if he is healthy with a very good amount of assists. Now, if we limit his play time due to playing an even more conservative defensive style, his numbers might not be as good, but I still think 20 goals is the minimum with his combination of hockey anticipation, wrist and slap shot.

I'd like to say 20-30 goals & 50+ points, but...

Not Qualified. I have a bad feeling.

If he and Dutch find their chemistry, wouldn't be shocked to see him put up 50 points. He is a way better playmaker than he is a shooter too, but has the talent to do both very well. Actually wouldn't mind seeing him get some time in with Lando and Radar, especially if they want that grit/tenacity guy to go with Duchene (read: having Downie play with Dutch)

40-45pts and 70+ games played and I'm a happy camper.
