Most 3rd liners have a 'second' dimension though. Can play D or are physical. MPS can do neither in my opinion. Top 6 or bust for him.

After watching him in the AHL playoffs, I'd be shocked if he becomes a full time NHL'er. Glad I'm not GM because I loved him going into the draft.

He's learn to absorb hits this year in the AHL but he still has more to learn for sure.

With the way their forwards are stacking up, I'd say this is a buy low scene tbh.

Hell another player I am interested in is Hodgson. The sabres need some help in the defense and franson might be a good place, especially with them having so much center now.

These messages give me a warm fuzzy feeling in my stomach. Like a stomach light from ET (goon reference).

I bet you Gillis wants Gardiner for Luongo and this is Burke's way of saying no. Tallon has said he won't give away top prospects for Luongo either.

Looks like Gillis is trying to play hardball.

Bull. Is it possible? Perhaps, but none of us can say with any certainty as we are not members of the incoming ownership group.

We'd have a better shot at getting Derek Roy. Sabres fans are pushing him out the door. Burke said him and Regier dont agree on player value though.

Apr 12 1991 MPS: 121 17 25 42 = .35 PPG
Oct 6 1990 NK: 51 8 11 19 = .37 PPG

Safe to say if one is still considered a decent prospect the other one is too?

Keon was considered one of the fastest skaters in the NHL, and one of the best defensive forwards of his era.[3] He would usually play against the opposing team's top centre, and developed a reputation for neutralizing some of the league's top scorers. In 197071, he scored eight shorthanded goals, setting an NHL record.

I'd do this.
I'd do this for Franson.
Problem is they are thin in the center area, so holland would be unrealistic as well.

Only way you entertain the idea of trading Gardiner is if your getting an impact 70 + point player back... even then you have to think about it.

If you sign Suter then trading Gardiner becomes a good idea if you can get that impact player. Throw huge money at him.

throw insane money at parise... with term. he likely wants to pick a team that is a contender like the Hawks, Pens or detroit... so a team like us would have to throw a retarded and ridiculous amount of money at him... a price that would be awkwardly high and outrageous... like 9-10 million a year over 15 years. I would do it... its our only chance to get a BIG time player without giving up assets. With out money he would never choose us over a contending team.

Schenn + Frattin for JVR or Simmonds is fair value. Frattin could be a good top 6 forward one day.

He can keep Lu then... would love to have him but rather have Scrivens and Reimer than trading our blue-chip prospects.

Well he would help us big time for sure. He's a 1B center and with kessel and lupul on his wings, yea that would be insane.

I saw this myself from the stands... he spent a lot of time chatting with both the Preds and Flyers table towards the mid-to-end 6th round.

Quick hypothetical question:

Would you rather have Getzlaf for Gardiner and a shot at signing Schultz + say a 2013 1st.

or

Have Gardiner an attempt at signing Schultz and keep our 1st round.

thoughts?

If the Panthers trade for Lu (I honestly don't know why they would), would you guys be interested in acquiring Jose Theodore from them?

The difference is that Kadri has progressed, while MPS has regressed.

I'm not saying MPS is a bust, as I believe it's far too early for that, but Kadri and MPS are in different situations in my opinion.

Doesn't really matter with the incoming ownership the lead man of the board stays the same Mr. Tanenbaum is still the CEO of the board.

The structure of ownership hasn't changed just the teachers plan is gone with Bell/Rogers taking there place on the board as majority owners of the shares.

I think I would rather see if Calgary or Winnipeg are interested first. If they weren't interested, I'd be happy with Remier and Scrivens and Carlyle's new system.

Blues were doing horrible until Hitchcock came last year.
