Safe to say if one is still considered a decent prospect the other one is too?
70 games more played for MPS on Edmonton. NK has never really been given a chance to succeed yet (under Wilson that is). We'll see how the next season rolls out.

For those discussing JVR; sure he's big, but what good is that if he doesn't use it?

I'd rather have a smaller-guy that throws his weight around (Dustin Brown, for example), than a big softy (like JVR).

With Gardiner and Reilly in the Leafs prospect system, they could potentially split them up and create two pairings that generate fantastic speed and puck movement and force their defensive partners to skate at an extra gear to keep up.

Having players like this on the ice always forces teammates to try and play at that level in order to keep up with the pace.

Great pick, glad to hear Gardiner isn't going anywhere.

With this direction I can see Schenn being moved much sooner rather than later.

To be honest Theodore is a good option if the price for Lu is too high.... At some point Burke should tell Gillis to f@ck himself and look elswhere Theodore wouldn't be all that bad as a stop gap help to tandem with Reimer, price should be reasonable also

Me neither but I guess people like speed. Might as well get Stalberg instead.

Problem with MPS is the oilers organization, they just love putting their prospect in the bigs even if he is ready or not. He should have gone back to the SEL for another season IMO but it never happened ofc.

I also noticed in the interviews on the Leafs website, there was such a heavy emphasis on wanting defenseman who can skate and move the puck well. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see both Schenn and Komisarek playing elsewhere next season, especially if we can sign Schultz.

I doubt the Panthers would move Theodore unless they brought in another goalie like Lu. I dont think Markstrom is quite ready to take over full time duties just yet.

lol me too man. Ducks now have Hiller, Gibson and Frederik Andersen. Maybe we could snag one of them. Doubt it though .

Totally agree that Schenn could likely be on his way out quite soon. Also like the idea of having Phaneuf, Gardiner or Rielly on the ice at all times. Our D core is very promising!

I really hope Burke is targetting Brayden Schenn, I still want to see Toronto acquire a blue-chip forward after this let down of a draft.

Brayden Schenn for Carl Gunnarson, Joe Colborne, 2013 2nd round pick.

I would do that in a minute but I don't think the Flyers have any incentive to deal him. Forget about fair exchange value, if a player is the right age and plays the style of game you need him to, you keep him. Simmonds is only available if they have an identical player and an urgent need. If I have a legitimate power forward and a psuedo power forward (JVR) who was injured much of the season I know which one I would be interested in moving.

then the Ducks are going to try to acquire L.Schenn

also, Ryan grew up a die-hard Flyers fan IIRC .. not sure if that plays a factor, but you never know

LOL.

If I put this same thing on the Oilers board they'd share that opinion?
