Least we're not on threads 6 or 7 like the Devils board.

Cause it's come from Parise's own mouth that he wants to win, and that's why he's still considering the Devils.
He also said that he would never play for the Rangers, then a few days ago he backtracked on that statement.

The main reason why he is still considering the Devils is because he is their captain and he is a loyal guy. There is no guarantee of "winning" no matter WHICH team he signs with. Just the year previous, the Devils missed the playoffs. Even if he re-signs, there is nothing written in stone that says they will be back in the playoffs this year.

I think there are a myriad of factors that will determine who he will sign with:

- Money
- Make up of team
- Comfort level

I hope he doesn't drag it out, make his rounds and sign with one. As i'm sure he's been mulling it over for quite awhile.

But I doubt it'll be that simple, and its easy for me to say.

And that's also why he's still considering Detroit.

Bingo....No one really knows for sure which team Zach is considering, other than that he sign he would like to re-sign with New Jersey. My bet is that JP doesn't even really know, for sure.

I agree about JP not even in the know He talks to the media alot and has said he wants Zach in MN, so I doubt Zach would mention where if he's undecided.

We'll see.

(IMO) I think its a 50/50 between NJ and MN.

I still think he waits for Marty to make his decision to retire or not. I dont think he stays if Brodeur retires. But I still believe that Detroit and even Pittsburgh are going to make pushes for him varying on where Suter ends up. Both want a Dman more.

God could you imagine detroits PK line

Zets-Dats-Parise. Best. Shutdown line. Ever.

Hasn't Brodeur already said that he won't retire yet?

Parise won't hinge the next 7 yrs of his career on whether Brodeur plays one more season.

instead of being more or less neutral regarding the Penguin's success, i'd actively hope for crushing failure if Parise ended up there.

I haven't crunched the numbers.....but I know that Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz and Letang are all due for new contracts during the next couple of seasons....I just don't see how they could fit Parise in with all those other stars due for big raises.

Are Malkin and Crosby really going to get big raises though? They're already making close to $9m. I don't see a very hefty bump for either of them.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Malkin's cap # get up to around $10 million...I'm sure Crosby's will be up there as well. Letang is only making $3.5 million right now, you know he'll get up between $6-$7 million, and Kunitz will be looking for some more money as well.

IMO, Pittsburgh needs help on the blueline more than they need another top flight winger...I see them making more of a run at Suter than Parise.

Remember how low the cap was when that deal was signed. Adjusted for cap increases, each would make $10.8MM this year. If they end up getting that raise it's still $4.2MM between the two.

They're both too young to really get "cheat year" deals unless they get more than 10 years, which would be a huge risk for Crosby with the concussions. While I don't think they'll get huge raises, the team will need to expect at least $3MM in raises between the two considering what other free agents have gotten.

i'd imagine they'd want their % of the Cap # to maintain it's level.

I wonder how much either wives of Parise and Suter have into their decisions. I assume almost none but who knows, these are Midwest boys and momma doesn't raise no fool.

I still think we are more likely to get Suter but who knows. Last week I wanted it to be draft day so that could finally be over with.... and now I need it to be July 2nd so I can move on with my summer

Who knows. In the end, I imagine they will support them either way but maybe they'll hint they want to be close to home. All we can as for is that the Wild be major players and that they will be.
