Nope. I just Kampfer over Prosser as well. I can't see Prosser starting in the NHL other than a healthy scratch. He did not impress me one bit.

I thought I read that he wanted to play for a Canadian team...I'm sure Chuck will communicate with Schultz's agent, but I doubt that he would sign here.....

I guess being almost Canadian and near the border doesn't help much at all

I think we lost out on Parise when Staal left Pittsburgh. Close to the cup, who doesn't want to play with the two best players in the World and they have the cap space.

Pittsburgh will go hard after Zach and I hate to say it but between Minnesota, New Jersey, Detroit and Pittsburgh, Minnesota is lagging behind at 4th. I wouldn't be surprised to see a surprise team like Colorado but given his comments...

Truthfully, I rather Minnesota concentrate on Suter. He's a much bigger need.

"given his comments"? The only comments I've heard from him are:

- That he would like to re-sign with NJ.
- That he wouldn't sign with the Rangers....however, he has recently backtracked on that statement.

I'm not going to rank options or place percentages. Assuming he goes to 7/1, I think he give each offer he receives careful considerdation and then make a decision.

It's possible that he signs with the Pens, but it's also possible that another team (maybe the Wild) give him an offer that is simply too good to refuse.

Gawd, July 1st can get here soon enough.....

If I were in his shoes and had to choose based on winning. I'd choose Pitt 12 times out of 10. If I did it for family, Minnesota. We'll never know what hes thinking.

With all else being equal, I agree...but there's ALOT we don't know.

Would you leave upwards of $15 - $20 million on the table to sign with the Pens?

I'm fairly certain he hasn't said anything about where he wants to play. The Canadian media has made a huge play for "he once said the city of Edmonton was nice" and "he went to school with Gardiner." Those two random things have been morphed into "he's definitely going to sign with a Canadian team, probably Edmonton, possibly Toronto."

Agreed. I think the only way he comes to Minnesota is if the offer is too good to refuse, something around $10 million per year. Would the Penguins be willing to match that? If the Penguins manage to sign Parise then they'll become my most despised team (out of sheer jealousy). Crosby, Malkin and Parise? Talk about ****ing jealousy issues.

Ever since Friday my hope has dwindled for signing either Suter or Parise. Still got a week until July 1st so I guess we'll see what's what as early as next Sunday. Here's hoping the Wild can pull off something.

I just read on Rotoworld that Pitt is really interested in having Suter plan with Letang. They are expected to throw a lot of cash at him, would they have enough to land both Suter and Parise?

Furthermore, he's been playing in New Jersey his whole career. They don't exactly have a high opinion of Pittsburgh.

I don't think Pittsburgh will ultimately be a major player for Parise. I think they're going much harder after Suter, and despite bizarre claims to the contrary earlier in this thread, they cannot fit both of them (even if they move Martin without taking back salary) without seriously jeopardizing their future and requiring both to take a discount.

You can add Neal and Letang, I might even throw Kunitz in there on a good day.

You forgot that:

- The numerous articles that have stated he wanted to go to a contender or a Cup contender.

I just don't like Pittsburgh jumping into the mix of things now.

Pittsburgh has been missing a top line winger for a while now; why do you think they want Setoguchi so bad?

I wouldn't be surprised if Minnesota lands Suter but I'm going to be mildly surprised if we land Parise.

Can you link to one that has him in quotes stating that?

Parise told The Star-Ledger today that money will be a significant consideration when negotiations for a new contract begin, but his feeling about whether the Devils have a legitimate chance to eventually win a Stanley Cup will probably be the overriding factor.

“For me that’s probably the biggest thing,” Parise said. “The money is definitely important. That’s real life, let’s face it. I’m not going to say it’s not. That’s realistic. But most important for me is being competitive and having a chance to win the Stanley Cup.”

Yea, I didn't forget him.

He is a solid role player that stepped up his game there, but he is evidence of how good that Pitt team is. He is a product of their world-class players

Won't everyone have a cow when Parise signs with Carolina and Suter goes to Calgary?
