I don't know how I feel about this.

Remember back when we hoped we could unite the Schenn brothers on the Leafs, and LA fans wanted the Schenn brothers there?

Looks like it was Philly who gets em both.

With Schenn gone maybe Holzer will play for the big club this year? Or maybe Rielly can impress and snag a spot on D.

Its great to see the Schenn brothers reunited, too bad it wasn't in Toronto however.

I don't really like this.

All those who have given up on Schenn will now start whining about JVR. JVR is older than both Kadri & Schenn, and he too has yet to put it all together.

I really pray JVR reaches his potential, as I'm fairly confident that Schenn WILL become a premier top 4 shut down D man - and he was already a beast in the shot blocking and hits.

I'm glad for him though, character guy who will find success with his brother.

If this was proposed a year ago I doubt the reaction would be the same... Too bad, I wanted to see Schenn for at least one more year before making a judgement on him... I still saw a good deal of potential in him, but JVR has good potential too... I was just excited about a couple years down the road:

Reilly - Schenn
Gardiner - Schultz (hoping we can sign him)

It sucks to see Schenn go cause he's a really good guy, but I REALLY like this trade for us. JVR will fit in very nicely!

Going to miss Schenn, but this is nice! Hope JVR can get back in form. Schenn in Philly will be right at home.

For some reason I doubt Couturier could've been had. I feel like his value is significantly greater than the value of JVR right now. Head injuries and whatnot.

I definitely would have preferred Couts as well if it had been possible.

Yup. Wish him the best of luck. He didn't deserve all the hate he got received last season and hope he does well in Philly.

JVR had some injury issues last year so hopefully he is healthy and rebounds from that. He's got a lot of potential and good size up front. Would have preferred a center though.

It's going to suck playing against Schenn for the next 15, but JVR fits a need and probably slides into our core.

Schenn was never going to be anything more than a #3-4 d-man, and has looked more and more like a #5-6 guy in the last couple of seasons.

JVR's injury problems are a concern, but any time you can move a guy like that for a top-six forward with size, you probably should.

Right after missing out on Jordan Staal because in part he didn't have a Staal brother.

Loved Schenn but he didn't work out. Good trade. Finally Burke steps up to the forward front

Gonna miss Luke Schenn! Hes gonna be a monster of player for Philly. Hate to play against him. But this is a AMAZING hockey deal. We get a good forward also. Nicely done. All the best Luke!

Draft bust for draft bust. Neither are the worst player in the world, but neither are world beaters either.
