There's no way he is lining up next to Kessel if he isn't playing center, unless Lupul is traded.

Somethings gotta give, one of MacArthur and Kulemin are bumped down now.

Will miss Luke, and would cheer for him when he returns to the ACC. But wow, what a return. Amazing.

I suggested a MacArthur/Kulemin+ for Luongo deal since you guys got JVR now. Seems like it could work.

That's what I'm thinking as well. As much as I appreciated his heart, he was very slow and his hockey smarts weren't always there. I don't know what to expect from JVR, but I wasn't expecting much out of Schenn down the road.

He wasn't too impressive 2 of the last 3. He played well in 2010-2011

I'm kinda split on this. We need some forwards and JVR is a good one but Schenn is a great piece to have on defence. I'm sure he'll enjoy playing with his brother though.

I think we should have waited on him a bit longer... It seems like a pretty goo trade right now, but God I hope this works out.

Good deal , JVR has a ton of potential . Stay at home D are easy to find .

Good luck Luke you'll be missed .

The only downside is we'll going to see move Komi .

We were weak in the centre and deep in defence, so I suppose from a balance perspective it makes sense. I would still have much rather seen Burke package up Schenn with a another player or two to get a TOP centre. That's what this team really needs.
JVR is a left winger , not center..

Wow, best of luck to one of my favourite Leafs. I'm gonna miss him. Welcome JVR.

Bittersweet trade but I'm ok with it. They're the same age, and both probably needed a clean slate. JVR is one of the pieces we've sorely needed, this is good for the team.

Either way he fits right in with the young core Philly is putting together.

Excited to see what JVR can do with the Leafs next season.
We'll agree to disagree then. I thought he was really good 2 seasons ago. Matter of opinion of course. But he was SO bad this year that it could certainly cloud either of our judgements

I'll miss Luke's handling of the puck like a grenade, who will cough up the puck in the 1st 20 seconds of the game now?

He's a good kid but lacks the mean streak of a Stevens/Foote, you are not intimidating anybody with those puppy eyes.

Schenn was my favourite player on the team, too bad it could not have been Franson or Gunnerr instead, I am going to miss Schenn, I *****ing loved that kid! Hopefully JVR becomes a more physical presence and becomes nastier.

Honestly the trade makes sense. Philly is absolutely stacked on young forwards, and we have an abundance of D. I think we got the slightly better deal but man I am really gonna miss Luke Schenn.

Bye Luke it was nice having you around. I hope he has success with Philly.

He had two good years and two bad years...and he just wasn't fitting into the game that the Leafs want to play. Speed and skating are #1 for the Leafs the way they are headed and he didn't have that.

I think it was obvious when we drafted Matt Finn and Rielly that Schenn was good as gone.

GTFO the only thing you'll get for Luongo is the 7th rounder we just got from the Jets

This sucks! Gonna miss good ol Luke. Really wanted to see what he could've done one year under Caryle and away from the ******** "two hands on the stick at all times" Ron Wilson fed into his brain.

Change of scenery to Philly, nasty Philly crowd, does this mean the return of the nasty Luke Schenn from the Kelowna days?

First Staal brothers, now the Schenn brothers, jeez.

JVR should fit right in on the Leafs. He's a "top six" forward that has never scored more than 40 points.

Nope, I think this move will help bring us Shultz. Burkes way of saying "we got room now"

Don Cherry just died somewhere. If anyone here complains about this being Canadian for American, they should be banned.

This basically proves that schenn was offered for luongo also.

Looks like gillis said no, so he went to JVR which imo is a better deal for burke.
