....sorry, my bad!!! big list, lot of names, there's bound to be a couple errors
No problem. I've just always been a bit curious as to what the deal is with him because I don't know how long he's been living in Canada. He's supposed to be a pretty good player so I'm curious if he's a dual-citizen or not. I haven't heard anything one way or the other yet.
The Markham Islanders and Team Illinois just played a tournament down at Teco arena in Naples 3 days ago. They played in the game before we went out on the ice for our game. They played in the AAA division. We were AA. There was a team from Oshawa, the Rotary Oshawa Generals (??) in our division on the other side. They went to the finals against a team from Port Huron in AA, but I dunno what was going on in the AAA division.
Anyways, pretty cool that future NHL players could've been at that tourney.
I read Logan Coutoure is already being touted as a high first round 2007 pick as crazy as that sounds being 3 years away. I'm guessing he'll be a high OHL pick.
I heard the upcoming OHL draft is weak beyond the first round. Is that true? With the proposed restriction on the # of 16 year olds allowed on a junior team, do you think the "O" will be looking at the Midget ranks this year more than in the past?
The way its being bandied about it looks like Logan Couture and Zac Torquato will likely go one and two in the OHL draft. My guess is Torquato 1st to Saginaw and Couture second to Oshawa.
This seems like a talented, but thin draft class since a number of American prospects are likely to stick with the USA NTDP or possibly play US hockey till their NCAA scholarships kick in (Tristan Llewellyn, Ryan Schnell, Nick Petrecki, Ian Cole, Matt Rust, Matt Thurber, Kirk Shattenkirk, James Van Riemswyk) ,but there is still hope.
Bryan Cameron, Wilson Ngai and Sam Gagner from the Marlies, should likely go in the first round.
The GTHL has a strong class, the OMHA has a solid class, the Alliance has a solid class and the ODMHA is fairly week this year.
OHL scouting reps have indicated it's a strong year for Northern Ontario. They have a good crop, but it just doesn't sound like a deep year compared to the past couple for that region.

Add Matt Dawdy from Ottawa Sting on the 2005 list. Ive seen him play this year he has something like 55 points in 22 league game.
Also from Kingston Goalie Mike Murphy is going to be one of the top goalies taken
underatted forwards Adam Sikora and Matt Greene of Kingston will also be taken in the mid rounds and could end up as steals for some teams...
is there a chat anywhere about minor midgets on the net? I do some scouting in the Ottawa region so i can help people out and others can help me out about the rest of ontario.. thanks
Geez the list for minor midgets for these drafts are pretty much endless.
I could probably add another 100 players to my early list.
There's tonnes of pay sites for these, but there are no actual rankings till the end of the year and alot of times the player listings rely alot on the hype they receive around.
Better pitch about hyped player, and the stock jumps higher.
I'd love to see an actual set of ratings updated maybe monthly.

Add Drew Doughty, a defenseman from the London Junior Knights to this list. He will be a 1st rounder guaranteed. Decent size, great skills and could be a PP quarterback in the future. I've seen the majority of the top 89 d-men and Katic, Doughty, and Ngai are the top 3 Ontario born IMO.
