Chicago says no. Switch Sharp with Hossa, and then it's a maybe. Still needs tweaking.

So Hawks give up best player + in your deal to go with giving up best player in OP ,,, Not happening

Weber is not what Hawks need on blueline and Sharp is better player then Plekanec also just signed longterm so he wont be moved

Hossa is recovering from his concussion, and he's going to be on the decline in a couple seasons. Move him while his value is still high. I said the deal needed tweaking. I don't think they have a d-man they'd be willing to trade that would help the Hawks, though.

Hossa will be fine ,, Ready for camp

Hossa was our leading scorer last year and still has good years left in him

He means alot to Hawks ,, No reason to move him and the "He will on decline in a few years" argument means nothing as he is damn good player now

I don't want the Habs to trade Plekanec. But if they were to do it anyway, I'd definitely look at a Plekanec/Sharp swap (Habs adding something) much more than trading him for a mid-1st rounder and decent prospect.

He's the only forward we have that's valuable but also expendable in my opinion. Toews, Kane, and Sharp are untouchable. I don't mean to come off as "Let's get rid of him," because I'm actually not. He's great. But if we were to get a #2 center package with a #3/4 d-man, he'd be the one I want involved.

The Hawks have drafted 4 centers with 1st round picks in the last 24 months. At this point they should probably plug the hole until one of them is ready to step in. Move Bolland up to #2 center and let Kruger handle #3 center if none of Pirri/Danault/McNeill are ready yet.

As a Habs fan, Hawks decline.

Plekanec, Weber+2013 2nd for Sharp might work.

Plekanec, Emelin, and 2013 2nd for Sharp and Jimmy Hayes could be interesting, although I hate losing Emelin.

The OP, though, fails.

If Montreal is trading Plekanec to Chicago, Teuvo Teravainen would be the main piece we coming back because it would be about building for the future and our scout is big on Teuvo.

funny how EVERY trade proposal with the habs, the other group always goes to Subban +

I thought he was a locker room cancer and all around disrespectful playerÉ

And, no. Subban is a top pair dman who is only 23. Those players are very rare and would command a very very high return...if any GM was looking to get a new job

Your right on the + but far off on the Subban.
Sharp will never get you Subban.
Now back to reality.
I don't believe there's a chance in hell that the Hawks would even consider the OP's offer.I don't see the Habs trading Pleks for now unless they get a real good offer.
He's signed to a very good contract and is still at a rip 29 yrs of age.
Maybe trade deadline time when teams are preparing for their playoff run but till then i just don't see it.

Subban +

I know you're a habs homer but these two sentences, used back to back in this order, is just pure comedy.

Any non-Hawks homer will tell you Sharp doesn't get you Subban straight up.
Heck even most Hawk homers will tell you that.

Why?

Sharp has played with the likes of Toews, Kane, Hossa, Keith and Seabrook over the last few years.

He doesn't play center (or at least doesn't take faceoffs like a centerman) and we're constantly hearing about how desperate Chicago is for a 2nd line centerman.

If Sharp was as good as he's being made out to be in this thread why the hell do the Hawks so badly need a 2C? Believe he may have played some center at points but obviously cannot hack it.

Sharp has also been a consistent 30+ goal guy, again playing with guys like Toews, Kane, Keith Hossa and Seabrook.

Plekanec has been playing at center, and in mostly matched up against other teams top lines for 2-3 years now. Yes they were very bad in the standings last year, and he particularly had a pretty bad season but look at his GD linemates and compare them to what Sharp has had.

Wouldn't trade Plekanec straight up for Sharp, let alone add anything in.
