Euro 2012 Official Thread

So, I know some of you watch the other greatest sport on Earth, and this upcoming tournament has the makings to be one of the best sporting events in history.

Today, Dec. 2, 2011, were the draws for the upcoming tournament in Poland and Ukraine. I thought I'd just make a thread with updates, so that everyone can always follow what's going on.

Here are the results of the draws:

Here are the stadiums and their cities:

Should this not be labelled OT since it is not hockey related?

Oh boy! We are in a sick group. Poland group is a joke. They should make it to the quarter finals. This makes the summer without hockey not so boring. Can´t wait for the tournament.

Obviously Spain will win. Its not even fair how much talent that country currently has. I'll be pulling for the Netherlands and watching a lot of Germany games. Robin Van Persie and Mario Gomez are just on another level right now so if there's any hope of dethroning Spain It'll be one of those great strikers from those respective countries.

Ack, Deutschland got the worst group.

Oh well, it's time for them to step up as a big favourite.

Their youth has really emerged in the past few years.

Heh, if he plays.

Klose and Podolski have always ended up playing in the big tournaments.

I honestly don't know who would win between Spain and Germany. It's a toss up between the two I think.

Spain has a great team but i actually think that our team is deeper now than theirs. We are playing great soccer lately.

Podolski plays on the left side so it is either Gomez or Klose. Klose gets a lot of love from Löw but Gomez is scoring on an unreal pace the last two years.

Group A is a joke. Fairly pleased with our draw, could have been worse. I would not want to switch places with the danes

Damn, 4 years since I was in Europe.

Won't forget the group of German's on my train ride from Berlin to Prague singing Deutschland to the tune of Ole, ole, ole....for pretty much all of 4 hours.

The top line right now for the Germans consists of Özil, Müller, and Klose... The latter two have ******** chemistry... it's not even fair how intelligent they are, just unreal.

As for Gomez: He is a product of Bayern... specifically Müller. There's no other level about him... He's just be finishing. Honestly think that if Lewandowski were playing for Bayern, he'd have close to 20 goals by now, yet, getting passes from Kagawa, he's still right behind Gomez... and 3 years younger.

Group D is also a joke. 2 teams that barely qualified.

Gomez led the league in goals in his days in Stuttgart. Lewandowski is a good player but not at the same level of Gomez. Look how he sucks in the Champions League. Gomez scores at every level he plays. And he is just 26 years so he has a lot of good years ahead of him. Will be interesting to see how the team will look like because Klose is one of Löws favourites. But Gomez has to play. He is just to good for the bench.

In this competition the runner-up was Germany .

I hope Portugal and England can make things interesting...the best names out there who have yet to find success at major tournaments .
