Jeff Carter to the habs

with rumors around that P-A Parenteau meant be coming to Montreal. I think right now there is no one I feel that could be a pure scorer for P-A Parenteau. I really feel if we would have Jeff Carter I know P-A Parenteau could elevate Jeff Carter's game to 35-45 goals. So what would it take there are only 3 players that are not for sale Subban (which I don't think you need) Price (yeah I don't think that would make any sense) and our 3rd Overall Selection. Would a Patches + 2nd Rounder work?

but I would do this only if we get P-A Parenteau

He solidified their top 6.

See kings gpg pre and post carter trade.

Why would the even think about this unless it's a MASSIVE overpayment?

I'd love to have Patches on the Kings, but I think it would mess with Richards head too much to deal away Carter. We have one happy team at the moment, we don't really need to make any changes.

Value wise its good though.

Value is good, but I don't really see the purpose for the Kings. There is no need to screw with team chemistry and break-up the bromance.

There isnt a chance in the world this happens.

And anyway, Carter creates his own offense, he needs the puck on his stick, he doesn't need to be set up, which undercuts your entire rationale for trying to acquire him.

Kings won't be trading Carter anytime soon. A few years down the road, I could see him being the guy we move if things ever need to be shaken up, but for now, we have the bulk of our Cup-winning roster locked down long-term. Why would we get rid of the possible chemistry between Gagne, Richards, and Carter when all of last season was spent getting them to LA?

I'm not sure who this trade makes less sense for:

The lottery team trading away their best young forward or the Stanley Cup winning team trading away a huge part of their Cup run.

Habs need wingers anyways

Pacioretty + 2nd for Carter ?
Yeah sure ... that will help the habs

At best , its a lateral move. But i'd rather have MaxPac than Carter

Why is Carter always in trade talks? Its good value-wise but I think Carter needs to get some rest now before packing up again.

I would only consider this if we got Evander Kane and Parise and if we fired Bergevin and rehired Gainey. Otherwise, no.

Why? I am sure the Kings are very happy with Carter and the Cup and really don't see them moving him. Also no way Parenteau is coming to Montreal either.

There's a few names that never need be brought up here again. Jeff Carter along with Luongo and Nash after they get moved.

Can't wait til Tavares stops elevating these plugs, and get's his just due.

Yeah, this proposal breaks so many of the basic proposal rules...but it's HF Boards, the more rules you break, the more run you get, lol.

Wait, so Pacioretty starts to break out 2 years ago in the 2nd half, sufferss an awful injury comes back and gets 33 goals in 79 games in his first full NHL season and they're trading him for Carter who had partying issues in LA and who scored 21 goals last yera and played on stacfked teams in Philly?

And they're giving up another 2nd rounder?

Good lord.

Huh, what issues has Carter had in LA? Do you have any idea what you're talking about?

This make no sense for LA at the moment. I just can't see this happening.

I somehow doubt the Cup winning team is going to deal away one of its top scoring wingers who just helped them win their first championship in team history. This isn't Philadelphia.

Being tied for the lead in playoff goals and winning the Stanley Cup might have something to do with that.

What? Carter has had no known issues in L.A. Also, yes Carter only had 21 goals, but he was playing injured and only played 55 games.
