They don't necessarily have to get worse to still finish last. Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton, Minnesota, Anaheim, and Carolina could all just improve more than them.

Eh, at some point if they keep picking #1 it means that they're doing an awful job at developing their picks and won't ever turn in to a good team anyway. Not seeing how it's that bad for parity.

Maybe if they were being smart with their picks and developing their team in to the kind of well-balanced team that you need to win these days...

Losing Parenteau isn't going to help.

NYI and Columbus would seem to be favorites. But imagine if the Preds have to pull the trigger on a Weber deal, lose Suter on July 1st and Rinne misses a chunk of time. There is always a team that is surprisingly bad New Jersey two years ago, Anaheim last year. I think Nashville could really fall apart over the next couple weeks and be a Rinne injury from a pretty devastating season.

I'd say there's a good chances it's either Oilers or Jackets.

If there is a lockout and they'll have a lottery with all teams, Pittsburgh is gonna win it.

I think there is a solid chance it could be Columbus again (even though they lost the lottery this year). They'll be going full rebuild mode. Another possibility is Calgary, if they decide to blow it up and rebuild also.

Discuss.
Edmonton Oilers
Toronto Maple Leafs
Columbus Blue Jackets

I think the Stars are a darkhorse for MacKinnon. They'll be a mediocre team if they don't make big changes during the off season and likely miss the playoffs. If Lehtonen has a down year/gets injured then it's almost guaranteed they'll be in a lottery position.

The same can be said about the Flames, but to a lesser extent I'd imagine.

Jackets at the moment, and he's probably exactly what they need.

Way too early to call right now, but if I were a betting man, I'd go for Columbus.

The Oilers are on the way up. They were a way better team last year. There's absolutely no way they're picking top 5 again next year. Book it.

If pavelec ends up somewhere other than Winnipeg our team will definitely take a step back.
