The Hockey Hall of Fame will be welcoming four more members in the player category this November, as the selection committee announced Tuesday that Joe Sakic, Mats Sundin, Adam Oates and Pavel Bure have been chosen for induction.

Mods: if you can think of a better title by all means edit and switch it lol.

TORONTO - Joe Sakic, Brendan Shanahan, Mats Sundin and Jeremy Roenick lead the list of first-year eligible players hoping to get the call from the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Quote:
Sundin collected 564 goals and 785 assists from his 1,346 games in the NHL. Best known as a stylish captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Swede also played for Quebec and Vancouver.

No. 13 played in eight NHL all-star games.
You guys think he's a 1st ballot HOF'er? A solid list of people among him going in.

I don't think so. Sakic will be though.

He definitely should be, but Sundin's chronically underappreciated, so I doubt it.

Sundin was under appreciated when he was a Leaf too. I doubt he is a first ballot despite considering his international achievements too.

He never really had a staple winger that was there with him for 5-7 straight years.

any other year, this one may be tough. I think he deserves it, but tough crowd partly because of personalities partly because of talent

It would be nice, but I'm not sure.

At this point the only lock is Sakic IMO.

He should. His historic draft ranking alone should almost guarantee it. Not to mention being arguably one of the biggest franchise's best players of all time.

absolutely

his international dominance, and his clutch numbers in the nhl, along with the fact, he was and continues to be an inspiration to young swedes

hockey hall of fame ... not nhl hockey hall of fame

Sundin is one of those players that EVERYONE knows how absolutely dominant and legendary players he was. Everyone knows that he was shafted with the players on his team.

Sakic, shanahan, and sundin make it first ballot.

Roenick... eeeh i dont think he should make it.

Absolutely he should be, but we'll just have to wait and see. Definitely think he's done enough to deserve it just in the NHL and then you have the international successes.

It's a shame that he was one Stanley Cup away from joining the Triple Gold Club, which would've been the icing on the cake.

Nonetheless, he will and should get into the HHOF. His career speaks for itself.

Looks like a lock for the Solentunna Community Center wall of fame.

IMO he should be, but I can see it being Sakic (deservedly), then shanahan for his dominance in hockey and contribution to the game today.
